Meet Peyton Fishel

Today we’d like to introduce you to Peyton Fishel.

So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I moved around a lot as a kid but I mostly grew up in Corona, a city just outside of Orange County – everybody knows everybody types of place. Once I graduated high school, I had no idea what I wanted to do for the rest of my life!

So after a few trial & error, I picked up my life & moved to LA. After living here for a few months, I had an activewear brand called GMRT contact me for a photoshoot. Now, I modeled & commercial acted when I was younger but it had been quite a while since I was in the industry & I no longer had an agent so I was nervous but excited to get back into it.

After a few more brands contacted me for shoots, I was starting to get comfortable in front of the camera again. I’ve worked with companies from Rockstar Energy, BoutineLA & SETactive to small boutiques, activewear companies & Motorsport apparel brands… I was really beginning to feel that I could do it all!

Has it been a smooth road?
I feel like it’s never a smooth path for anyone trying to get where they want to be & if it was for you, tell us all your secret (lol). But really, everyone always has things come up where you get pushed to the edge but that’s when you have to pull yourself up & come back 10x harder.

Something that’s been hard for me was my uncle passing away from cancer about two years back. He was the one who would want to bring me to all of my castings & meetings when I was younger! He was also a photographer so any chance he got we were setting up a studio at home & taking new headshots. He really inspired me to push myself to new heights so when he passed, I vowed that I would continue to pursue my dreams & I wouldn’t stop until I was the best that I can be.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I’m most proud of myself for not letting the small things get to me. There will be times when I show up to a shoot being lazy or in a bad mood but as soon as I get in front of that camera, all of the little inconveniences from before disappear. I’ll never let how I’m feeling affect my work because that’s what I’m happiest doing!

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Oh, LA is the perfect place to come if you want to be apart of the modeling industry. There’s so many LA-based agencies, brands & scouts pretty much everywhere you go – you just have to meet the right people. But you do have to be careful who you trust as well, there’s many people out here who don’t have your best intentions in mind.
