Meet Patricia Torres

Today we’d like to introduce you to Patricia Torres.

Patricia Torres is the PR Director and Media Coordinator for Bobby Dee Presents. She started as a backstage tv/host interviewing all musicians before they went onstage. Patricia’s mother brought her to the USA when she was just nine years old. She did not speak English and she did not have any family here. Patricia’s legal status here in the United States was not secure but she had the urge to work and succeed. At some point, Patricia asked her mom to do whatever took for her to get a job; therefore, Patricia’s mom facilitated the use of “fake documentation” so that Patricia could her first job as a cashier in McDonald’s. It wasn’t until years later that she was able to obtain her residency here in the United States. This hardship never stopped her from being hungry to succeed nor defined her as a person. Patricia made sure she always worked the best jobs no matter what the circumstances were. Patricia is also the mother of two beautiful kids (a boy and a girl), who she says are her everyday motivation. Patricia always rises to the top no matter how hard the road gets.

Patricia’s passion and true love is speaking with the artists, help them share their story and showcase who they really are on a personal level. Patricia’s creativity and passion places her on a different level. She is now in charge of the company’s public image, social media pages, website image, media, press and she is the creative director of the content developing the before and after image with the artist. Patricia Torres currently oversees the in-house Public Relations for Bobby Dee Presents & Uncle Snoop’s Army. She is currently in charge of all media Request for different venues, the company’s image, marketing, shows coming up, vendors, social media manager, all new artist signed to Uncle Snoop’s Army. Patricia has not all always worked in the entertainment industry, she has also worked as a medical and dental assistant. Although she had excellent customer service, she was not happy with these jobs at all. Patricia’s true passion was to work and break barriers in this entertainment industry. Patricia is also very skilled in event planning and weddings. She describes the stress of planning events as good stress as she is more than capable to handle all the heavy-duty work that goes behind the scenes.

Bobby Dee Presents/FKOA Presents started putting in concerts slowly and strategically about 20 years ago with a vision to go after niche markets. Over the course of the years, Bobby Dee Presents has perfected the science of pairing acts with fans and venues in a way that generates sell out audiences and brand followings that leave all parties vying for the next show. With their successful ability to sell out venues (AEG-Microsoft Theater, Live Nation, The Forum, Queen Mary, The Honda Center, The Greek Theater, Pacific Amphitheater, and expanding into the Mid-West and East Coast), Bobby Dee Presents has taken the industry by storm and is giving true legitimacy to the term “Music Business.” There is no lack of interest and buzz surroundings what this company will do next. Patricia describes her first job interview with Bobby Dee Presents as a very interesting one. She gifted him a cheesecake and she also gifted him three monster energy drinks. Patricia remembers how Bobby had a full fridge full of monster energy drinks. She told Bobby she was ready to work from the ground up. She knew success does not happen overnight and she made sure she put in the hard work. She started as a backstage host. “Bobby did not think or knew how special I was going to be or where our work relationship was going.” Their relationship went very far and now Patricia is one Bobby’s right hand team members and they have each other’s back. They have been through it all, good shows and bad shows but mostly good ones. Together they are shaking this entertainment industry and they are unstoppable.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
No. Being a woman in a male-dominated industry is hard. Sometimes people try to step on you and you have to keep your cool and be nice and positive. Working long hours and being away from home can be hard. But my dream is bigger than my fears.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I work for an Entertainment Company where we put the host music shows and festivals in LA and other states. My company Bobby Dee Presents partner up with Snoop Dogg and created a talent agency called Uncle Snoops Army.

I’m the PR Director, assist with marketing and Media Coordinator for all the shows.

I’m so proud of how far we got. The caliber of our show. How we are more noticed out there. We sell out shows.

What sets me apart from others is my creativity and passion in everything I do. The love I have for the music and my dedication.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I would’ve listen to my heart and gut. I spend to many years behind a desk wondering if that was it for me. I knew I was meant to do more and accomplish great things. I wasted too many years doubting myself, not knowing which direction to take. I felt lost. Until God made me uncomfortable enough to take a risk and follow my heart.
