Meet Patricia Prata of Super Star Dancers

Today we’d like to introduce you to Patricia Prata.

Patricia, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Studying ballet since I was 7 years old in Copacabana at Tatiana Leskova studio, gave me the foundation of discipline and passion for the arts. I fell in love with the arts and learned tap, contemporary, Flamenco, jazz and modern (also Samba at Jaime Arouxa and belly dance with Adam Basma).

Started my career as a model for Yes Brazil, move to production and professional acting at Rede Globo. Worked as a model for Ford Models and Elite Models in Rio de Janeiro, land a hip hop project and became the first female rapper in Rio de Janeiro, in Brazil I performed at many shows as an actress, dancer and singer. I got my SAG card in the US and found the Super Star Dancers under two branches, the Super Star Samba Dancers and Super Star Bellydance.

In 2007 I merge both brands into  superstardancers.com. In business since 2005, we have being featured at many well-known projects such as feature film Next (starring Nicolas Cage), East Side Story at the Ford Teather with the Istanbul National Ballet and Opera, Telemundo 12 Corazones 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012, Descontrol from 2005 to 2007 and many other for Fox, ABC, NBC, Univision, etc.

In 2013, one of our projects won the IFQ best TV pilot and in 2015 another project of mine won the prestigious Telly Award. Right now, I represent Brazil as a delegate for Mrs. Latina Global 2017 with Virgelia productions. My company is a full house production company and event coordination from casting to the final product we deliver quality and performance for TV shows, films and events. I define my brand as a full house production boutique.

Has it been a smooth road?
I have been blessed enough to land amazing projects with wonderful people, and I have just gratitude for all opportunities everyone has given to me.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
My resume is extensive, sometimes it feels like I can do anything. I’m specialized in bringing magic and authenticity to all my projects. I am a creative artist and every single thing I do comes from the heart. I am a perfectionist with freedom of creative “momentus”. Art is in my essence, I love helping the vision of a project comes to life.

Besides, Brazilian shows, belly dancers, samba dancers, production and choreography I also have a variety branch that provides body painters, face painters and variety acts when my costumes calls for novelties or vaudeville. I am specialized in bringing, creativity, good price and quality.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Los Angeles is a city for the strong, fortunate and brave, it is not for everyone. We compete everyday with the “creme de la creme”, to succeed in LA as an artist one must be superb in what they do as well unbelievable resourceful and intelligent In my opinion Oregon, Colorado and other states must be easier markets to start a business in the arts, entertainment, events or film How to improve Los Angeles, well, first of all the traffic must improve, in LA can take you more than one hour to go from Santa Monica to Burbank, so I think one of the options to improve the traffic in LA is, start hiring locals, companies should start to give priority to hiring professionals that live locally. I am also pro SUPPORT SMALL BUSINESS. I think it is very important to be able to work in the same city you live and support small business.
