Meet Oriol Clarós of Artiks

Today we’d like to introduce you to Oriol Clarós.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Oriol. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’m from Barcelona (Spain). I come from the nautical world, I’ve spent a large part of my life working with boats as a sailing instructor and skipper. Music and sea are my two great passions and I try to grow up with them. I’m this type of person who wants to work in a hobbie. I enjoy sport, specially watersports like surfing, windsurfing, swimming… And of course, I like to go to my studio after a good session of any of these. That’s a big way to be inspired.

At the age of 17, I started producing music in my bedroom. I started performing at parties in my neighborhood and in some towns around my city. From here, I have been climbing until today. I keep looking for my “place” in the electronic music scene trying to keep a special stamp on all my songs.

Under the name of Artiks, I produce a commercial dance/house music.

I am currently 26 years old and I have just released my last song “Love Me Better” with my friend Kastelo in Music Tap record label, which is working much better than we could have imagined. We are receiving a really good feedback. The people is feeling the summer and the good vibes. That’s what we were looking for. Before that, I released music on labels like Sirup Music, Strange Fruits, Addicting Records… And I received support from artists like Lost Frequencies, Sam Feldt, Lucas & Steve, Thomas Gold, and many more.

I have to confess that when we finish the track, we were not sure about if it would really work. We really liked it.

It’s always a pleasure to work with Kastelo because we understand each other very well and we find it very easy to work when we get together in the studio.

These days I am finishing my next collaboration with a friend and a Saxophonist. It is a summer single with a very fresh sax that I hope will come out soon to animate these complicated days that we are living in the world.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I find a lot of “no” as an answer on my music career and I know that I will find more of that but I have to keep working hard.

My challenges are to play my music around the world and try to share the experience that I feel in my studio when I’m producing my songs. This motivation, this feeling that you carry with you all day when something goes right.

A great challenge for a music artist like me is to be able to make a song that everyone likes. I think it could be a good one.

Of course, do a collaboration with a top singer. And for me, it would be a big challenge to collaborate with an artist of another style. For example, a rock band. We have to try the most crazy ideas that we have to make the future.

Please tell us about Artiks.
My brand is my name as an artist. I am a DJ and Producer who makes Dance music for clubs, festivals or just to listen in the car.

At the moment, I’m proud of my recent releases, specially the last one “Love Me Better” and ready for the next achievement with a new one which is coming on.

Some people tell me that when they listen a song, they know if it is made by me because I have a sound. I’m not really sure about it but I’m working hard to achieve my perfect and exclusive sound.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
When I took the control of a big boat near to the Captain.
