Today we’d like to introduce you to Nolan Smith.
So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Being surrounded by people who have an ear for music influenced me to pursue music. So, I locked in and started to hone in my craft. I built my work ethic by consistently producing songs which led to tremendous growth. I am still improving my craft but I’ve noticed how far I’ve come from when I started.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It hasn’t been the smoothest but that’s the beauty of this type of craft. From having to learn the different recording techniques to designing my own artwork can be very overwhelming. Everything that’s involved in my craft I do myself. Whether it’s recording, mixing my own songs for reference, or promoting my projects. I do everything myself with the help of my manager (Tyler Grey)
Ace Darko – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Honestly, when I get in front of a mic I try to let it naturally come out and be myself. I don’t go into a session trying to sound like someone else I just let it flow. I make music for everyone, it really depends on my mood at the moment. My sound stands out because it’s true present experiences, feelings, and vibes.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success for me is being able to build a legacy for my family and my future family. I want to be able to leave an impact when I transition from here and make sure my family is well taken care of. Honestly, having a strong fan base is a huge marker for me. Being able to see that grow makes this all worth while. Noticing people really fuck with me is huge and it motivates me to keep at it.
