Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicholas Pratley.
Nicholas, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’ve been in the mindfulness and wellness space since I was a kid — thanks to my severe asthma. As a child, there were times I couldn’t breathe; it was so bad, so I was introduced to breathwork and the world of mindfulness, which helped my poor little lungs tremendously. Even at that young age, this niche space sparked a drive to want to be able to share its healing powers with the world and help people. It wasn’t until I was 18 years old and experienced a traumatizing crash that I would finally have my ah-ha moment.
In a nearly fatal car crash (the steering wheel shaft was mere inches from impaling me), I experienced what people would describe as a near-death-experience. My whole life literally flashed before my eyes — good and bad. To some, it may sound crazy, but in that event, I heard a question. “Do you want to stay or do you want to go?” My answer was very clearly to stay, and I knew from that moment on I couldn’t go about life the way I had so mechanically been living it. It was time to heal, nurture and step into myself while pursuing those childhood dreams of making a global difference. So I launched myself into the inner work, as well as the fitness and wellness space. Ive opened wellness centers launched spa products and mentored corporate leaders. On top of continuing to teach and produce my own work. Over 20 years later, here we are.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Even though I found a wellness path, I had severe abandonment issues. So, there was a lot of personal growth and inner soul-searching I had to go into along the way. But I always had a tenacity for self-growth. I always wanted to dig in and do this kind of emotional archaeology, to move through the crap that was in the way. No matter where I’ve been, there’s always been a process of transformation. I‘ve been in my own difficult processes and written and taught about it. When facilitating meditation and breathwork sessions, sometimes I’m just as much in the healing as attendees. Over time, I’ve stayed in the process of transformation and it’s lead me to where I am now, which is wellness, mindfulness, transformation and teaching this body of work that I’ve been working on for the past 20 years called energetic intelligence.
The Wellness Experience – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
To simply put it, we offer the full spectrum of wellness. To encompass all facets, we offer classes both in-person and online, in-depth workshops and even more in-depth retreats. We also create wellness products and teach business owners how their company is a reflection of them, and their personal transformation is the transformation that happens in the business and therefore, the world.
What sets us apart is that we cater to the individual and their own personal empowerment and growth, while revealing how businesses are also just “individuals.” Corporate America shapes the country in many ways. In fact, businesses all over the world shape their countries. They are the daily interactions, the outside world experiences and the opportunities for growth and a collective culture. We want to appeal to anybody and everybody, as well as people who are in positions of power and influence, and teach them that they can change the world through their company. So it’s an impact on an individual scale and an impact on a corporate scale, and nobody else is doing that.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
What I’m most proud of is that we see thousands of people that are impacted for the better. They’re completely changed. Our experiences are a great way to see that payback. After years and years of doing classes, workshops, retreats, etc. we are always seeing tremendous changes in people in the years to follow. They literally transform into different people, and, truthfully, that is the most rewarding part. It is such a privilege to be a part of their journey.
