Meet Nezzus

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nezzus.

So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Growing up, I moved around a lot so to me it’s not about where you might have started its about the journey. I grew up in Clayton Country, Georgia that’s where I was from middle school until senior year. In middle school and 9th grade, I did some pretty epic things & made some great friendships that last till this day but Things especially changed when I moved to gangway (better known as Thomas Rd Riverdale GA) in 10th grade. I was already skipping school a lot of freshmen year with my older brother BigSmokeChapo who was a senior at the time we would go over to slimesito house drink lean, smoke backwoods and record. But that 10th-grade year is what gave birth to Nezzus a name slimesito gave me that school year because my government name was hard to pronounce and I was like young Jesus, so niggaz had combined it and made NEZZUS true story.

Shit Early into 10th grade, I was still 15 years old, younger than most kids I knew at my new school but that ain stop me from hoppin off the porch like many young niggaz I knew back then. We started posting pictures wit guns online and gaining a following on Instagram leading into the bloody 2015-2016 that I’m sure atlantastan Twitter remembers. (shit was too hell back den) but shit, I started skipping school to be in the trap and make money and a bunch of other knucklehead shit too… The xanax wave was super heavy around that time so I was in school off xanx getting expelled and some more shit. I even made my first collab mixtape with my homie AshSekito while I stayed with him due to….. circumstances lol.. but fast forward Into my senior year I met destroylonely who convinced and inspired me to take rap seriously seeing how he was 16 already ten toes deep rapping in Atlanta. We came together one night and created our mixtape “nezzusdestroyed” off adderall and we been twins since.

By the middle of my senior year me, Destroylonely, TexacoCam, and RomanReloaded had shot a video at Larry league house with smoke for a song off ND called “no hook” which was filled with anything teenagers SHOULDNT BE doing which ended up going viral around the school and the net leading to the principals seeing the music video and putting a serious target on our backs. I had already been to 3 high schools due to insanity in my life. So Me, DestroyLonely, TeaxacoCam, and RomanReloaded decided to transfer to homeschool to ensure graduation but that’s when things really took a nose dive for me. I was arrested in class during a test for criminal gang activity resulting in my final ban from schools in my district act the time.

Initially, I gave up hope when I was told the news of my expulsion while incarcerated but thankfully, my mom convinced the superintendent to let me finish the year out as an at home student only Also due to the fact I was one make up math class from graduation. But I was barred from any graduations and proms Due to me being a “public risk”. But honestly after everything & encouragement from skuffle whom was in the final year of his prison bid, I had graduated Highschool class of 2018. Summer 2019 to celebrate the graduation of destoylonely and the graduation of me and cam the previous year the three of us packed up everything and went out to Cali. and its been history ever since non-stop flights and rock star lifestyle no kap the real 1. And now here we are today 2020

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Well, its definitely been a tough road. I’ve seen life from every aspect of the easy suburban life, the brazye city life, and the glorified hood life. And each all taught me something that I can’t even take for granted. I have alot of family so life was never easy growing up between not having food and frying flour cakes till our parents returned home to just each year another one of us catching a new court case. But we never stayed down we always came up one way or another and will continue to stay up. Today things aren’t as bad and my young siblings got it pretty easy but still, I wouldn’t trade anything my tough upbringing made me who I am today.

Can you give our readers some background on your music?
I’m an artist. I make music. I’m signed to Addicted To Money WorldWide LLC. Founded by my brother BigSmokeChapo. I don’t really like to classify my self as a rapper cause I keep everything raw and true. I don’t kap. I don’t put up a front. I treat music as art. Nezzus is just much me as my regular self. What you see is what get. Plus, I tend to make music not so focused on bars on bars but just statements being made and good sounds. I’m known for just being Nezzus if you know me and know my background. Me and gang different simply because we can all attack one goal from many different angles and still bring it together. I know soon we going to be rich so that will be what makes me the most proud, I’m proud of everything that has come forth because We real-life started from 0…. from nothing at all.. zelch!

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Shit a funny childhood memory is how me and gang slide on opps in school, we would come to the opps neighborhood and try to start fights and etc… they would hide and run being houses and dey parents LOL. We used to have them boyz literally runnin away from us and begging the principals for help shit. It was really a sight to see and something I can’t ever forget lol and to this day, the same guys act hard for Instagram and copy our every move but still in the same lil ass area while me and gang go up top. It’s always funny to look back and laugh at them broke niggas🤣. But really tho a good memory is my first time getting high when I was 14 me and gang all got high as shit went in my mom bathroom while she was gone and started brushing our teeth thinking sumn was gone change we was high as a fuck boy I tell you.
