Today we’d like to introduce you to Neil Estrada.
Neil, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I was a Mortgage Consultant with one of the four major banks at the time and was president-elect for the Filipino Chamber of Commerce of Orange County about five years ago. A Board of Director of the Filipino Chamber who was already a State Farm Agent approached and let me know that he thought I would be a good fit to be an insurance agent. He said to me, Neil, you’re setting up events, bringing in new people, providing content, and doing a good job networking. I told him thanks, but no thanks. I have good qualified clients from the Irvine/Newport Beach area, good loan amounts, good pay, and the drive to work was 4 miles with no freeways to take.
Just two days later, a high profile banker at my branch wanted to take me to lunch to talk to me about becoming the face of his insurance company he plans to join which was competitor of State Farm. He told me that I have a great network and it would be good fit for both. It was at that point that I took it as sign that I should really look into the opportunity as I always enjoyed helping people. State Farm has over 100 products and services that can utilize to help folks out. Insurance is also needed and owned by pretty much every adult in some way, shape, or form. The final piece was knowing that State Farm can do Mortgages.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Challenges – Taking over a book of business who had clients used to an agent that had been in charge for 25 years. There was also the challenge of learning the State Farm system. The biggest ongoing challenge is managing through the personalities of the employees.

We are a full-service insurance agency. Some of the basic offerings are: Auto, Homeowners, and Renters policies. We specialize in Business Policies (Work Comp & General Liability), Life Insurance, and Mortgage. What makes me proud is knowing that I am properly protecting something of value for our clients the right way and with a quality insurance company standing behind me. What sets me apart from others is understanding what’s important to my clients and then also educating them on areas of improvement or opportunities that they may benefit from.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Future plans include workshops and topics of education for my clients along with any family, friends, and interested parties. Possibly one day opening a second office closer to home.
