Today we’d like to introduce you to Nathalie Williams.
Nathalie, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Becoming The Business Doctor was a long journey. For as long as I can remember, I also had a hustle or a business. Naturally, anything that I said I could do I did. I did hair, had a jewelry line, a party promotion company, made custom pocketbooks and even a clothing line. But the one thing I did with each and everyone managed them and do the marketing. At the time, I didn’t know what it was it was just something I did. It made sense to me. I would make ads, build my own websites, create content without knowing this was what marketing consisted of. The problem was I always got over whatever it was I was doing. Nothing could keep my attention long enough to see the full potential.
After I ended the clothing line, I decided I needed to figure out my true niche. I know that business was my natural suite so I decided to go back to school and get me a degree in business. I choose Human Resource as my minor. As school begins, I started to develop an understanding of business and what I should do. I thought I would start an HR company. That was the plan of The Business Doctor. But it wasn’t my lane. My lane was marketing. I have been doing it all my life. Once I begin The Business Doctor, I made myself ad’s, website and all the content, I needed to begin my business. I didn’t get any clients in my first three months, not one!! But I did get compliments on compliments on how beautiful and creative my ad’s and Instagram content was. And there it was. It was clear. My niche is marketing. I changed my pitch and just sold what I do!! I create amazing content and look for brands. Once I became who I was supposed to be, the clients started pouring in.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
People think once you own a business your rich. Never the case. My business is a luxury, not a need. A lot of people think they can create content themselves, run their business themselves and develop a brand on their own. Which makes my job even harder. I have to constantly grind and grind to prove that I am needed. I struggled with getting clients in the beginning. Pouring so much of my money into consistent marketing with no money coming in yet. I felt like at times maybe this just is not for me. We all want to make money in our business so starting a business and not having any money coming in was discouraging me. But, yes, there is a but I felt like giving up was not an option. So, I just pushed through and three months later booked my first client.
What do you do, what do you specialize in, what are you known for, etc. What are you most proud of? What sets you apart from others?
I am the business everything. I am known for making businesses become more organized, uniformed and structured. Not to mention pretty. My business does start to bottom help in businesses, from registration to brand and business Management. The name Business Doctor came from the idea of being a doctor of business. When you go to the doctor, you get checks or either you come for a direct problem you need a diagnosis on. That’s why I do. I give business check-ups. Make sure everything is running smoothly. I also can diagnosis problems your business is having and come up with solutions. The thing I am most known for is my marketing content and plans. I love being creative and problem-solving. In marketing, I am able to do both. Websites, business marketing content, ads, commercials, photoshoots… these are all the things that allow me to utilize all of my talents.
I am proud that I am able to help people’s dreams become a reality. Starting a business can be overwhelming and being able to help business owners get over hurdles, and turn ideas into an actual and factual thing is amazing. Even with established business owners who been in business for years helping them remain innovative and stay relevant in business.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
I could name a list of people who have been supportive of my journey in business, family and friends. But the real credit goes to my clients. They believe in me more than anything. They trust me and always let me be myself in creative direction. The support I receive from them is unreal. Patience and loyalty. The retention is crazy. All my clients from day one are still around, and even its not to buy a service they are just there in support. A lot of my clients have become friends. I have women and business moguls that I look up to. We should all have a mentor or a person of interest that we look up to. Mines is Bill Gates and it’s not because he is a billionaire, it’s his mind. His innovation, the way he continues to expand his brain and his ideas. The future. So yeah, Bill Gates is my all to mentor. I think without innovation your nothing in anything you do.
