Meet Nate Mezmer of Allness in Santa Monica

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nate Mezmer.

Nate, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I began producing events and festivals about ten years in San Francisco. In 2017, I co-founded a Fitness & Wellness festival in San Francisco called “City Fit Fest.” Many of the notable talents, coaches, and “influencers” we work with are based in LA and so I found myself traveling back and forth a lot between the Bay and LA. I found myself drawn to the healthy lifestyle on the Westside of LA and so at the end of 2018, I made the move to Santa Monica.

Currently, I’m working on several projects including a Cannabis infused Wellness experience that will be activated at the Northern Nights music festival in Humboldt County this July. The festival is located on the Eel River in the heart of the Emerald Triangle. Our Wellness sessions will take place in the middle of a Redwood forest and will feature samplings of Cannabis and CBD for 21 & over attendees. We are actually partnering with “HUM FARMS” who’s a Nor Cal based brand but has an office here in Venice. After this activation, I’ll be focusing my attention on the 3rd annual City Fit Fest in San Francisco taking place on the weekend of October 20th. It will feature notable LA-based instructors including Venus Lau, Erika Gaszytoni, and Marcus Martinez.

Besides that, I recently launched a Free community workout here on the Westside of LA, every Saturday morning 9:30am at Ocean View Park in Santa Monica. I’m also currently planning some Movement & Mobility workshops that will be hosted here on the Westside.

Note: My background in Health & Fitness began with Track & Field in college at UCDavis. When I graduated (back in 2003), I started teaching and coaching youth as well as helping older people learn to move better. I also began producing events at the time and eventually, nightlife and entertainment became my “day job.” Years later, I wanted to get out of the nightlife and music industry, so I married my passion for Health and Fitness with my experience as an event producer.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Producing events is never easy, and there’s always a ton of risks involved. You can plan a festival in the middle of summer and it can rain. Or, you can spend $5,000 on a massive kite to fly as an art activation and there will be no wind. One of the most challenging things to do is book talent. Big name talent not only commands a lot of money to perform, there are huge corporate promoters that essentially control the availability of many of these artists, DJ’s, and bands.

Please tell us about Allness.
I have two companies. I co-founded EyeHeart Events which is based in San Francisco, and I also co-founded City Fit Fest and the ALLNESS brand that works with Fitness & Wellness talent in LA, the Bay, and beyond.

As far as City Fit Fest, there’s no other fully immersive Fitness & Wellness event experience like it in the country. We are doing our third year in San Francisco this fall and then the plan is to expand it to Los Angeles in 2020.
