Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalita .
Hi Natalita, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My name is Natalita. I am a multi-media myth maker inspired by the terrains of the earth. I journey through the land, asking her to heal me and remind me of who I am. The art I make are the stories the earth and spirits tell me. I create original music, visuals, and performances to aid in the healing of humanity by reconnecting us to nature and our Divinity.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Smooth roads are usually bumpy. My spirit has had to suffer the perils of existing in a brown female body amongst a male-dominated, capital-hungry industry. I have experienced everything you can imagine. Alas, I believe focusing on my struggles is more of an egoic act to satiate the human need for drama. So, I would rather focus on how I rise.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a music composer, singer, and producer, a dancer and performance artist, a visual creator, and storyteller. I specialize in pulling people’s feelings out of their guts and spreading them on the floor for them to dance over in ritual.
I am not sure what I am known for, I imagine that varies from person to person.
I am proud of the ways I have helped heal people and the land.
I assume the unique placement of the beauty marks on my body set me apart from others, but not too apart because I like the idea of us all being connected.
