Meet Natalie Mota

Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalie Mota.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Primavera Color Limon started as a desperate need to have a creative outlet and distract from the realities of the world we are living in today. It was the pandemic that slowed all of us down and left us to face ourselves. I was no exception, I was navigating through life with the same routine everyday: eat, sleep, work repeat. I was missing out on my creative and adventurous side because I was busy giving myself to other places and other people. With the Pandemic, I started becoming curious about who I am and what moves me. One of the things that I believe help to bring me peace and healing is smudging my home with sage and palo santo. Another is my curiosity for crystals, manifestation, and healing. This practice is one that I quickly realized many in my community are not aware of. One day I had a real moment of sadness come over me, and felt like I was hitting a wall. I had some dried flowers at home, unused palo santo and some of my crystals, I gathered them along with some crafting wire and started arranging those elements together to see how it would look, then Vuala! I created Palo Santo Bundles that I now make today with a variety of flowers and crystals!

With the support of my family and friends, I went out to vendor markets to sell my creations and show my community what tools can be used for their own personal journeys of healing and manifesting!

Now, if someone would have told me this would be my story two years ago, I would have looked at them and said, “well where is the business plan, how am I making a profit, how long is this going to last?, Who is my target audience” etc..

Although important, I didn’t start this business with the intention of making money, it’s a hobby, I have an outlet to create, have fun, and connect with others! I’m so proud of myself for it, I’ve met great people, have had repeat customers and collaborated with other wonderful makers.

Not to say that the operational & finance part of  business should be dismissed, it is important and if you are selling anything, make sure to talk to a friend that knows a little about business to get you going Google is always helpful as well. The point is, if you feel in your heart that you want to create for the sake of creating, do it, don’t worry about what it’s going to mean to other people or how hard it’s going to be to start a business, That is all negative self-talk keeping you from becoming your most authentic self.

Today my Palo Santo Bundles are available on Etsy and on my blog at primaveracolorlimon.com.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
One of the struggles I’ve faced has been creating a product and not selling it. In my head, it is the most beautiful creation and I came to find out no one was interested! Although it’s intimidating and a slap in the face I’ve told myself to keep going, it doesn’t mean that it wasn’t good enough, my customers just weren’t ready for that creation yet, so I made something different.

Obstacles are true tests of resilience but it never means stop, it just means keep going. So there’s a lot of positive self-talk that we have to give ourselves any time something gets in the way and that’s okay. That’s life! WE CAN DO HARD THINGS!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My work is authentic and is a representation of who I am and what I’m transforming into. Everything that I do is handmade and inspired by colors, patterns, and textures that move me. Each sage & palo santo bundle is unique, I may make multiples of a specific design but all are one of a kind. Each crystal has a unique shape and flowers take their own shape once dried. I work with suppliers that take pride in their work, so I am able to get a hold of materials that are ethically sourced and handled with care. I work right from home along with my dog that is in charge of the quality control! My bundles can be purchased through Etsy and I announce what’s to come to my shop through Instagram. Instagram is a great place to reach out to me to to place custom orders and even contact me for indoor house plant orders and plant care tips! Plants are my other love, I love when customers I’ve met share their plant collection with me!

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
My husband and I are expecting our first child come June 2022!! We couldn’t be more excited about this new chapter of our lives and the timing has been incredible, there are so many new things happening it’s quite magical. I can’t wait for what motherhood brings and what Primavera Color Limon will evolve into in the future!
