Meet Natalia Walth of Natalia Walth Photography

Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalia Walth.

Natalia, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
This all started 15 years ago when I took a high school photography class. I learned photography on 35mm film camera my mother’s old Pentax. I developed my images in the school darkroom, I can still smell the processing agents whenever I think of it.

Fast forward a few years when I became a mother and motherhood changed me in a way I didn’t see coming. It slapped me in the face with its exhaustion and extreme joy. I picked up my camera once again. With some military, college and real life under my belt I started my business. I’m a mother of two and wife to my handsome husband. He supplies my caffeine addiction and adds to my laugh lines. Our dream is to travel the US in an Airstream. Then I remember, I have a 90-pound dog that whines too much and a toddler who hates her car seat. Back to reality.

My mission in life then changed when I birthed my children. I began to capture those days that pass slow (painfully sometimes) and the years that fly by.

I enjoy working with people who love spending time outdoors, who enjoy simplicity and feel a connection to the home they are raising their children in. People who feel life passing so quickly that they wish they could stop time. I help stop it. I preserve their memories with family films and tangible prints.

Has it been a smooth road?
It has been hard. Birth work is an exhausting industry. Being on call ALL the time drains you in a way you don’t expect. I was taking 4-6 clients a month and then I hit a wall. My marriage was suffering, my family, my business. I needed to rest. I reevaluated and decided that I needed solid chucks of off-call time in order to be the best person. I know only take 2 clients a month and I am blessed to be booked well in advance. Whatever clients I cannot take, they are moved over to the Los Angeles Birth Collective where I am a co-founder.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Natalia Walth Photography – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I specialize in motherhood. Documentation during this time is incredibly important and those early years pass by so quickly. I love video and family videography is one of my most popular sessions.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
