Meet Morgan Buster of A La Mode Collections

Today we’d like to introduce you to Morgan Buster.

Hi Morgan, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
A La Mode Collections is an event rental company that represents all that is boho & chic in design. We are a brother & sister duo who over the past couple of years, have carefully curated our collection to include a variety of unique and specialty rental items, many of which are vintage in nature and many of which bring forth a statement to the events we service. Our story began shortly after inspiration came from hosting our cousin’s first bridal shower. After pulling off our first-ever event, a job that can be quite stressful in itself when it comes to organizing and hosting, and after receiving so many compliments from family members & friends for the lengths gone to perfect every detail, my brother/business partner & I decided to take on the world of event rentals. Today our business is doing better than we ever imagined, as each day we grow more and more, taking part in the celebration and joy of people’s biggest life moments.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Our business journey so far has been a rewarding and fulfilling one, however, that is not to say that it has not come without its own set of challenges. As with any business, it’s all about figuring out what works best and how to operate in a way that will yield optimal success. For us, this meant having to find a way to be efficient with our time, as it is just my brother & I [(we do get extra hands from family when needed :)] who run this business of ours. It also meant that a lot of dedication, hard work & sacrifice was required, something we began to see more and more of as our business grew. From having to search out & acquire our unique selection of inventory pieces to then building & designing a website that not only showcased the uniqueness of our items but that also ran in a way that was easy for our customers to navigate, followed by learning how to properly market these items to those in search of specialty décor for their events, it has been quite the process in getting started. Now almost two & half years in, my brother & I have been more heavily involved than ever, having taken on a great deal with regard to tending to customers, delivering & picking up from events, maintaining our inventory (which is a constant effort to stay on top of) and even working on new ideas/big inventory items that we plan to reveal in 2022! Staying on top of all the duties involved with running this business and learning to overcome these challenges has certainly led to growth and strength within our company.

We’ve been impressed with A La Mode Collections, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Our company is known for providing specialty pieces for all types of events. Whether it be for a wedding, anniversary, birthday, or shower to celebrate a new engagement or perhaps a new little on the way, we believe we have what it takes to make any given celebration a special one. Our rental items are unique & beautiful in their own way, and we especially love our vintage, one of a kind items that we feel offer so much more joy to an environment when it comes to conversation pieces. Our ability to offer these items at a price that’s affordable is something we believe that sets us apart from other party rental businesses and having received great feedback from customers who’ve confirmed this to us, we only hope to further gain the opportunity to provide our services to others.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
Luck has played a major role in our business ventures thus far. We have an incredible support system within our family, who have been here for us every step of the way, and who have not only allowed us to run our business from their offices/own business but who have also been there every weekend to lend a helping hand when needed & when my brother and I are tied up in working other events. They have been incredibly helpful & generous in making themselves available to customer pick up & drop off, ensuring in our absence that everything is taken care of the moment it goes out the door to the moment it is returned. Without them, our business would not be half the success it is today, and for this we could not be more grateful to them. We also feel lucky that so many customers have shown such a large amount of genuine support and interest in the items we have to offer, and we feel lucky to be a part of making their events special and unique.
