Today we’d like to introduce you to Morgan Amirani.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’ve enjoyed creating and working with my hands for as long as I can remember. After getting my BA in interior design and working in a commercial firm, though very satisfying, I felt limited and not fully in control of my vision.
I took one beading class just for fun and fell in love with the freedom of making something from start to finish without any limits! This started as a hobby and soon after, I realized that this is what I’m destined to do! After a year of toying with this idea, I went back to school and took three years of Bench Jewelry classes and launched my line in 2012.
I appreciate the freedom of creating without boundaries, and I believe my background gives me a greater understanding of shape, form and juxtaposition of different materials so I’m able to design and create timeless pieces.
Has it been a smooth road?
As a jewelry designer, I have come to realize there is much to learn! I will always be the excited student who is in her happy place when crafting and showcasing her line. It is the business aspect that I find most challenging: running a website, promoting my business, and staying active on social media and online. The artist in me simply wants to make that next piece and forget about the business!
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Redd Accessories – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
Although the jewelry business is highly competitive, a gap exists between high-cost fine jewelry and manufactured costume jewelry. I have found my niche within that gap by offering handcrafted jewelry that stands the test of time.
All my hand-made pieces complement one another. Wear each one as a single piece or layer a few together to create your own unique look. Each piece has its’ own powerful and delicate magic; it’s the timelessness and modernity of it all that is enchanting.
The best compliment I can receive for my work comes from the strong, confident woman who wears one of my pieces. Her confidence inspires me to create jewelry to make her feel special and beautiful. I use a small red ruby when design allows to ignite energy, passion and action and to promote ambition and determination… Offering the highest standards in jewelry design and customer service is my reciprocated promise to her.
What were you like growing up?
I was born in Iran and moved to California in 1985, a few years after the Iranian revolution. Although California is my home and where I belong, I’m deeply rooted to my heritage and cannot deny that pull. I truly feel that the diversity of my life situation has allowed me to think outside the box and be creative, thereby making my craft uniquely international.
