Today we’d like to introduce you to Monie Love.
Monie, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
As an Asian American born girl, growing up has never been easy. English was my secondary language. I was homeless at the age of 15. There was lots of problems, depression, chaos, and negativity at home. Soon, I learned to find work, make enough money to have a safe environment and foundation to lay my head on. I worked in the customer service field for a little while. As time goes by, my passion for serving that branch was slowly drifting off, whereas I feel the need to take my growth to the next level. My friend took me to a casting agency and the very next day, I was signed up for a role for a television series. (Needless to say, I was cut at the final editing room. Haha) But I found that being on set and watching how it was all set up from beginning to the end, amazes me and that day, I found my new challenge and passion.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Acting and Modeling is absolutely very different from my last previous job. Every day I learned something new and when there is a new project, there are new people to work with. I can definitely say, I am thankful for my expertise skills in customer service that I am able talk to so many different people that came to Hollywood from all over the world.
Tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Today, I am an actress and a model. What sets me apart from others is I am born and raised in Los Angeles, CA right next to Hollywood. I am a true native. Despite of my struggles growing up, I overcome the hardships from a very young age. While being casted for roles from television shows to Netflix, I decided to start my YouTube channel. One of the major problem that was being highlighted to me is depression. Suicidal rates has been going up year after year, after year. It took me some time to think and planned where my YouTube channel was going, what to film and why. I decided to show my true self on camera. Happiness. I remembered, growing up, I was always sad. I was always crying. I drenched my pillow in tears every day for years. One day, I was washing my face, it was as if an angel appeared in my head. Told me to stop crying and to change everything that I do not like about myself. Do positive things to love myself. I came a very long way, where I show positivity in everything I do and everywhere I go. I feel that, if I were to make a YouTube channel, I want to be able to make a difference in many peoples lives. Today, I love and enjoy life and everyone should too.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I am very ecstatic for the future. Plans do change. So I rather not say. I thought I was going to work longterm at my last job and retire from there. That did not happen lol.
