Meet Mitchell Harris of Paradise Bar Events in Westside

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mitchell Harris.

A renowned celebrity mixologist and a member of the Food and Beverage Industry for over 20 years, Mitch began his career at a multi-million dollar national restaurant chain, quickly rising to the position of General Manager. True to form, Mitch soon took on the new adventure of owning and operating his own restaurant in the Los Angeles area. It became clear throughout his early time in the industry that his true passion lay in Bar and Beverage Service, leading Mitch to found Paradise Bar and Beverage Services in 1999.

Mitch’s initial introduction to the industry was steeped in the tradition of cocktail preparation, grooming him in the art and style of “Cocktail Mixology”. Today, he creates cutting-edge cocktails from a concept of fresh inspiration combined with unique, aromatic herbs and seasonal farm-to-bar ingredients. Recognized as a leading celebrity mixologist Mitch’s inspiration and creativity are paving the way for future trends in the Bar and Beverage industry.

In the last few years Mitch has emerged as a key celebrity mixologist, with his energy, flair, and custom cocktails garnering magazine write-ups (check out his 944 Magazine article), features on celebrity and event websites as well as appearances on many T.V. shows including TLC’s “Battle of the Wedding Planners”, The Tori Spelling show, and Hell’s Kitchen as the featured celebrity mixologist. Mitch has also showcased his skills on Ovation’s “The Art of Mixology” and several of his custom cocktails have been recognized and featured by Celebrity Wedding and Event Expert David Tutera.

Has it been a smooth road?
Once I started my Farm to Bar concept and was on TV the growth of the company came very quick. Cash flow issues along with keeping up with both the Admin and operational side of things were tough.

And keeping the quality of service was a struggle as well, the events got more high end and a lot more moving parts, dealing with Celebrities and TV shows, we had to hire a lot of new employees to cover all the events.

And opening our New York branch comes along with a whole new array of issues.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Paradise Bar Events LA/NY story. Tell us more about the business.
We are a Farm To Bar Craft cocktail company. We specialize in providing craft cocktails, bars, mixologists and concepts to large events. And our concept allows up to provide the Craft cocktails experience to very large groups without the long wait at the bar.

Most companies get over complicated and under deliver. leaving guests unhappy. We have the ability to create an amazing experience no matter the size. Choosing ingredients that pair well with the food and décor, we can create a real synergy and continuity to events….

And our bars and equipment are like no other.. Baby bathtubs medicine droppers. molecular mixology, Suitcases and bread boxes for décor’

Now on both coasts, we are the only company that has offices in both New York and Los Angeles…

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
The industry is growing. I see a lot of great tings happening in smaller markets… outside of the bigger cities is where the major growth will happen…
