Today we’d like to introduce you to Miles Klauder.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Miles. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started my fitness career in Tampa, Florida, training friends, family and neighbors. I trained in commercial gyms and small private fitness centers. I was attending a chef’s conference with my dad when I met Eric the Trainer. My dad went to Eric’s presentation the year prior and raved about his techniques and philosophy. This is where my career took a turn.
Eric invited me out to see his private gym in Los Angeles, California. He told me I would learn a lot and bring it back to use with my clients in Tampa. I took Eric up on his offer and went out to begin a two-week apprenticeship with him. I started learning advanced techniques I had not seen other trainers use before. I also was able to attend the fitness expo that week and help him work his booth.
After keeping in touch and working in different events with Eric, he offered me a job as a trainer at his gym. I needed to be willing to continue as an intern until he felt I was ready to handle high profile clients. I committed to being in the gym seven days a week and learning everything I could from Eric. Two years later, I am one of his top trainers and have a full roster of clients that range from actresses and actors to CEO’s and stay at home parents.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Once I met Eric, I knew working with him was a once in a lifetime opportunity. I was willing to do what I needed in order to learn everything I could from him. I had an established life with my family in Tampa and had to make the decision to leave it for something new. Anytime you leave home, there are challenges getting used to a new city and way of life.
We’d love to hear more about your work.
Miles, the trainer, is best known for specializing in physical transformation. Rather than simply exercising to increase athleticism, we use fitness as a tool to increase the good looks and good health of our clients. Most of our clients are working as on-camera talent. Therefore, we prioritize beauty over athletic performance. I enjoy taking clients on a transformative journey that changes their life in a positive and meaningful way.
Once you step foot in our gym, you immediately know what sets it apart from others. Our gym provides a positive and friendly atmosphere you won’t find in most gyms. Every person is there to encourage each other to reach their full potential.
Do you feel like our city is a good place for businesses like yours? If someone was just starting out, would you recommend them starting out here? If not, what can our city do to improve?
Los Angeles is a great place to have a personal training business because many people prioritize their health and fitness for different reasons like working in the industry or living a healthy lifestyle. Los Angeles is known for its new, innovative trends in fitness. If someone is starting out, I would recommend finding a great mentor because they can help you launch a successful career.
