Today we’d like to introduce you to Mila Grass.
Mila, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Everything begins with curiosity. By nature, we are interested in things that attract us, and how everything about it flows together to become this image or presentation that we perceive. The universe of health and beauty has kept my attention since I can remember.
It’s kind of hard to escape don’t you think? (were all in this together!) Because it’s actually evolved from even pre – ancient Greek spa practices, ancient Rome, and ancient Egypt. Spas and baths were used to treat different ailments and makeup and body adornments were used for many reasons, and still are today. Health and Beauty continues to evolve every single day. There is always a demand for it no matter what industry or culture someone belongs to and to me that is very exciting, and that’s what led me to where I am now.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
There is not one road that has ever began smooth. We must come up with the materials and tools to prepare our roads. Some of my biggest struggles have been with myself. In this industry, my main focus is to give people what they want and make sure they are happy, healthy, refreshed, and leave with more confidence in themselves than what they came in with. But this industry is a competitive one and I doubt myself sometimes. With thoughts like: Am I good enough? Are my prices fair? Is my product and technique great or does it suck? What if my clients don’t like me? What if my clients think my presentation is hideous? These are just a few of the thoughts that are haunting and can wear at anyone’s self-esteem. But we can’t move forward if these thoughts are a constant obstacle. We must take care of ourselves before we can give advice and care for others.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
At Gifting beauty previously known as Mila Artistry, we are a mini skin spa & beauty boutique that specializes in healing the inner self by healing what we see on the outside. Our overall general health begins internally right? Ailments like colds, autoimmune, cancers, and even mental illness. Those begin within us. A lot of people can look perfectly healthy outwardly, you’d never know what they were dealing with. But then there are a lot of us who don’t know what to do about how these ailments affect us. I’m not a nutritionist or a doctor, it is out of my scope to run labs to determine why the skin hair and nails are dull or breaking out, or what nutrients someone is lacking. But it is within my scope to have a great understanding of my client’s lifestyle, what doesn’t work for them, what does work for them and what they would like to achieve. It is within my scope to treat the symptoms that show up outwardly. I take a full health and lifestyle questionnaire with consent so that I know my boundaries and limits for treatment. I also often work closely with their nutritionist and dermatologist to have a better understanding on which additional treatments I can offer to help my clients. I am extremely proud of the results both me and my clients get from treatment. Trust brings us closer, not just that they can trust me with a great confidential service, but that I can trust them in being honest and that they are willing to take the steps at home to maintain our achievements. Every esthetician has a certain type of clientele because we all have individual personalities. There is something special about each of us that the other does not possess. We each have our own techniques, and our own style. We charge what our work is worth, and strive to make sure that our prices are equally as fair to our clients as they are to us. So, I think that what sets me apart is simply my personality and intimacy with my guests.
What were you like growing up?
When I was growing up, I had so much energy! I was curious about everything and I was always trying to invent something or make a business deal. I was a dare devil. You have to have all of those qualities if you are going to own and run a business! I was interested in satisfying people. My friends, my family everyone I cared about. What’s funny is that I wanted to be a million different things. A fashion designer, a rock star, and just any kind of boss. As I grew older a lot of what I wanted to become changed but in a way I feel like I can still be all of those things.
