Today we’d like to introduce you to Meagan A. Culberson.
Meagan, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I moved out to Los Angeles five years ago to obtain a career in entertainment. After almost giving up, God gave me an incredible opportunity to work at an entertainment representation company and I took it! As my professional life slowly began to develop and with watching my younger sisters become wives, I felt the pressure of needing to settle down. But I soon came to realization that my single season is my time to get closer to God, focus on my purpose, and learn how to love myself so that I can teach others how to treat and love me properly.
So I began writing and created SingleGirlClub.com, a place for single women to learn helpful tips to boost their confidence, work on a budget, and practice self-love. I wanted to showcase incredibly talented women that were making the most of their single-season and build a community that creates authentic friendships by celebrating successes and holding one another accountable. I feel that society has always made women feel that they are inadequate if they aren’t in a relationship, which isn’t true! So I created a platform to show women that they are more than enough by themselves and when the time is right if desired, that relationship will come.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It’s been a journey! The majority of the time, I am content in this season and other times not so much. Quarantine was extremely difficult because I was dealing with loneliness and it took a while for me to cope. However, In order not to fall victim to my own thoughts, I make sure to keep myself busy and do things that make me feel happier.
Please tell us about Single Girl Club.
SingleGirlClub.com is a lifestyle website for Single Women. We curate blog posts that help encourage women to go after their goals and learn the importance of self-care. Each month we feature strong women that are focusing on their purpose, along with featuring other writers and beauty lovers to help inspire our readers!
Soon SGC will be curating networking events, panels, meditation sessions, and relationship seminars to further inspire and educate our audience.
The SGC point of difference is simple. We want to inspire women to be a better version of themselves for themselves and not just for the purpose of a relationship. Self-love is so important and when you love yourself, you learn your value and will learn how dismiss things/relationships that aren’t serving you fully.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I have learned that everything happens for a reason and my mistakes have helped shaped me into the woman I am today.
