Meet Maurice Webb of 21st Century Fatherhood in Southern

Today we’d like to introduce you to Maurice Webb.

Maurice, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I am a proud native of Detroit, Michigan. Raised by my grandmother before her death in 1996. I unfortunately was influenced by the streets early in my teenage years. After a brief run end with the law, I turned my life around and finished high school with awards and honors. After failing the 9th grade, I refocused my life, spiritual relationship with Jesus Christ.

I am an entrepreneur! After earning $80 bucks in 1995 from shoveling snow, I was ready to business. I have looked forward to this opportunity throughout my whole life. With all the experiences and opportunities have prepared me to lead and coach individuals and organizations into phenomenal leaders.

Has it been a smooth road?
As a young man, I have struggled to find my way through the violence, foster care and criminal activity. I am proud of my accomplishments to date but nothing more than becoming and growing as a father. I am proud to raise my three daughters and give them the best life I can. I work hard to support them. When facing any challenge in my life, I think about being a dad and the beauty in growing through every challenge.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I am proud of our work with fathers. We work with men in the prison system and also the community to mentor, counsel and empower growth through three major functions. Education, Empowerment, and Equipping. We are a change agent for men who seek to learn the right way to support their children and family.

We work with men in the courts as well to ensure they are prepared to parent their children effectively.

We also provide job training through our pavement marking company Precision Striping. We hire men who have a criminal record giving them the opportunity to achieve greatness by learning a skill.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Yes, any city is a great place for our services. I would recommend them network and show interest in the things that are desirable for them.
