Meet Matt Orlove of Orlove Entertainment in West Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Matt Orlove.

Matt, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
There are three cities I call home; Miami, New York City, and of course, Los Angeles.  Each of these places have exposed me to so many amazing experiences, whether it be through music, film, art, food, or people.

Over the years, I’ve held various sales, marketing, & event production positions at both national and regional companies.  My corporate world, work force upbringing has molded me into the business person I am today; hardworking, efficient, organized, loyal, honest, and always buttoned up.

From an early age, I always had a love affair with music, so as clear as day, I knew I could take my knowledge of event production, plus my longtime sales and marketing background, and parlay it into my business. In 2014, I got married, moved back to Los Angeles, and Orlove Entertainment was born.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?

When we were a startup, it took some time to get things rolling.  Because we were an unknown entity, even just booking our first show proved to be difficult.  Though extreme creativity, tenacity, and luck, it eventually did happen, and over time, we’ve been fortunate to continouesly grow.

Nothing in life is a smooth road, and every day brings challenges, big or small.

What makes a person is how they tackle each obstacle. I’m hardly a reader, but I’ve always been fascinated with this life and works of Ernest Hemingway, who often times used boxing as a metaphor for life; everyone gets knocked down, but what makes a man or woman is how they get up.

All of my past experiences make me who I am today, so I have no regrets, but I will say, marriage, 2 (soon to be 3) beautiful girls, and my growing business have put me on the exact path that I strongly feel I am meant to be on.

Orlove Entertainment – what should we know?
Orlove Entertainment is a boutique concert events company. Along with our partner, L’Affaire Musicale, we produce 200+ shows a year, here in Los Angeles, as well as other markets, including NYC, San Francisco, Chicago, Miami, Boston, Philadelphia, Austin, & Seattle. We have a multitude of different brands; Wicked Paradise (Daytime Pool/Boat Party), Panic In L.A. We’ve been fortunate to work with so many amazing artists and brands we love including; Nina Kraviz, FKJ, Darius, Sango, Raekwon, Justin Jay, Holy Ghost!, Questlove, Moon Boots, Dim Mak, Soulection, Majestic Casual, Goldroom, The Knocks, DJ Premier, Will Clarke, Pete Tong, Giorgio Moroder, & Breakbot, to name a few.

We are driven by our love of music and strongly believe in our mission to share the work of exceptional artists.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success is continuing to accomplish every big, hairy audacious goal we set for ourselves.  These goals will increase over time and we will take the long view of getting there without sacrificing our beliefs or family lives.

I am most proud that we are continuously accomplishing our goals. It’s gratifying to know that all of the hard work and dedication thus far has paid off. We’ve just scratched the surface of where we want to be though, so there is an intense drive and focus to constantly create more, and be better every day.

From a personal standpoint, I strive to be the best at my craft, and most importantly, as a husband and father. If I can come anywhere close to accomplishing that with my life, I’ll be content. Until then, I’ll keep pushing.
