Meet Master Shervin Ilbeig of Dragons Martial Arts studio in San Fernando Valley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Master Shervin Ilbeig.

Master Shervin, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started Martial Arts at the age of 12. I never thought I would be a CEO of an Elite Martial Arts school. I received my black belt in 1994! Then in 2003 I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology. I had a choice in 2004 to start my career in IT field or Teach Martial Arts, I picked my passion and here we are with over 210 students and in a state of the art facility that’s over 4,500 sq. ft. Dragons Martial Arts is known for our age appropriate Martial Arts and Fitness programs.

We teach ages 3 and up.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
First, I would have to say Capital. My brother in law, Toni, let me barrow 90 k to open my dojo. Then all the permits that we had to go through with the city when we were opening up in the Westfield Promenade Mall our old location. But other than that’s it’s been a great road to success!

Please tell us about Dragons Martial Arts studio.
DMA is a safe family oriented Martial Arts school. I am the Master Instructor and CEO of DMA. We specialize in kid’s programs and focus on special need students as well. Dragons Martial Arts is known for our amazing family service. I am most proud of all my students and teachers for giving me the spirit to do this every day!
