Meet Mary Wu

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mary Wu.

Hi Mary, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was impressed by the floral decoration of my own wedding in 2014. Since then, I dreamed to be a wedding florist someday to help more couples have a dreamy, romantic, and timeless wedding. But it was only a dream that I never thought it would come true at that moment. Until three years later in 2017, before my BFF’s wedding. I accidentally thought about to making her hand-tie bridal bouquet to her as the special wedding gift. It turned out gorgeous and she loved it so much. Since then, I started doing more and more hand-tie bouquets and I enjoyed it so much. My design is garden-style–the bridal “fresh-picked from the garden” with a large variety of blooms and. The visual impact of the design and couple’s satisfactory are my top priority. I helped numerous couples on their big days- from intimate ceremonies to grand weddings. My floral designed have been featured in top wedding blogs such as Wedding Sparrow, Ruffled Blog, etc.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It was challenging to let people know about my business at the beginning. I believe that good reputation is build by “mouse-by-mouse” so treasure every opportunities and always exceed client’s expectation. It is a time of accumulation. Now, my business is more and more visible and customers return for special occasions.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am so passionate about my floral design business, but at the meantime my full-time professional is an Advisory Manager at Deloitte. Before transitioning to advisory, I have been an Auditor for seven years. I treasure the critical thinking that my full-time professional brings to me while I am proud of having artistic talent. Besides floral design, I am also passionate about oil painting, playing piano, and dancing.
