Meet Mary Braunschneider of MVB Consulting in Beverly Hills

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mary Braunschneider.

Mary, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I am now a Personal Development / Mindset Coach and Mentor as well as a Certified ‘Thinking into Results’ Consultant with the Proctor Gallagher Institute.

My mission is to help busy professionals significantly improve the quality of their lives by elevating their mindset so they can work less, earn more, and live more!

How I came upon this career path certainly has a lot of twists and turns. I had been in the advertising media industry for 30 years.

Starting out at Grand Rapids Magazine in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In 1987, I knew I wanted to move to Chicago and make a big splash in the big city! I bought every magazine off the racks and called the various Ad Directors and asked to meet with them so they could give me advice on how to get started in Chicago. Every one of them said yes to meeting me so I would get up early in the morning and drive the 3 hours from Grand Rapids to Chicago to meet with them. The feedback I got was I was either your “too young” or “too inexperienced” to work for the larger magazine publications and they suggest I make my mark in newspaper first. I hadn’t really considered newspaper but was open minded and knocked on the door of the Chicago Sun-Times.

So there my career in newspaper advertising began. Years later, I moved “across the street” as they say in Chicago and started to work at the Chicago Tribune. It was a journey filled with many positions, each one better than the last. From selling local retail in the city, to managing the movie category (back when movie ads where a big deal!) to national advertising and then management. There was not a moment I wasn’t proud and embrace the importance of how we served the community.

My career with Tribune Company (now called Tronc) then brought me here to LA – as VP of Sales at the LA Times.

This was not an easy decision to move from the Midwest to LA with a lot of moving parts, emotion and pure excitement at the opportunity. I also have 3 daughters. One just graduated from college, one in college and one a junior in high school.

My daughters and I decided it was a once in a lifetime opportunity and I went for it.

I moved to Beverly Hills and enrolled my daughter into Beverly Hills High School. My daughter had told me she wanted to move to LA right after High School. Well, she got her wish a year earlier. 🙂

In less than 2 years later, the LA Times, in a quick and unexpected swipe, cut the senior leadership team, which included my role. You can only imagine what an overwhelming, frightening, and confusing time that was.

BUT, I knew this was an opportunity and I knew I had to seize the moment. In reflecting back, in all my roles as a leader, the one thing that I truly loved was mentoring. Guiding and showing others how to bring out the best in themselves was always one of my favorite aspects of leadership.

I also knew I needed some guidance and coaching to get clarity on this opportunity and I knew I was going to have to invest in myself even though I was scared – friggin scared!

The twist of this was I had scheduled to go to an event in Toronto which happened to be a few days after I was laid off. It was a leadership event with Bob Proctor. Now, I knew Bob and had been in his coaching program years prior – and honestly used the principles I now teach to achieve the position as VP (a career goal of mine). What I didn’t know was all the puzzle pieces that finally came together to bring me where I am today.

It was at this event that everything changed. The program and information were so powerful and so life changing that I knew what I wanted to do from right then. I wanted to help others on a full-time basis and share this powerful information.

I invested in becoming a certified consultant with Proctor Gallagher and started my own personal development/mindset consulting company, MVB Consulting, and branded myself Mary Vivian (Braunschneider was too long!)  🙂

I am thrilled that I have been able to turn my passion into a business that helps people live happier, healthier, more abundant lives.

I work enthusiastically with individuals, groups, and companies to guide them in discovering their deepest goals and desires, reaching their potential and achieving their personal and professional goals. I have actually studied personal growth and development for over 25 years starting back with the Dale Carnegie course in the 1980’s.

Now I coach clients, speak at events, and help people be the Baddest, Biggest, Best version of themselves, all while being mentored by some of the top personal development success teachers and gurus in the world!

It’s been an incredible journey! One that brought me to this beautiful place I now call home. I can’t wait to see where the next bend takes me!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?

The freshest and biggest struggle was moving from Chicago to LA. If you have ever relocated you know what a juggling act it can be.

Finding a new home, meeting new people, adjusting to the new position, and adapting to the LA culture are just some of the struggles I faced.

Moving away from my daughters, even though they were older, still remains the hardest.

Years later it was the heartache of the career ending, the growing pains (although excitement) of starting my own company. I LOVE LA and believe it all happened the way it happened to bring me to LA!

Please tell us about MVB Consulting.
I am a Personal Development / Mindset Coach and Mentor as well as a Certified ‘Thinking Into Results’ Consultant with the Proctor Gallagher Institute.

My mission is to help busy professionals significantly improve the quality of their lives by elevating their mindset so they can work less, earn more, and live more!

Most proud is the people I have helped and to watch them become more of who they are. It’s honestly the best thing!

I coach a program called Thinking Into Results. We focus on changing behaviors, habits and mindset to change results. It has immediate impact and lifelong application.

What sets me apart from the others: I have used these principles to achieve great success and continue to study daily to help others who may be looking for Debt elimination, job promotion, weight release, better relationships, wealth creation, improved health and so much more! I understand the challenges people go through and can truly relate. I am passionate about what I do and have studied this information for years and have lived it. I walk the walk and talk the talk.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Oh gosh, what a great question.

I do wonder what life would be like if I hadn’t taken the position and moved to LA but honestly, I wouldn’t be where I am today, living here, doing what I love so I think I will say…I wouldn’t change a thing. 🙂
