Meet Marty Early of Le Loup Rouge in Sherman Oaks

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marty Early.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’m originally from the Paris and this is where I grew up and started my career as a tattoo artist 11 years ago. I’ve had a strong interest since very young for arts especially drawing and music. The combination of my taste for rock/metal music and skateboarding naturally led me into tattooing. Moving to the U.S has always been a dream of mine and I finally made this happen last year.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been a smooth road for sure, as every artistic field you always have to push your limits and can’t take anything for granted. There is some ups and downs of course but growing from your mistakes is the key, I’m constantly learning whether in my personal or artistic life. But on thing is for sure hard work pays off!

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Le Loup Rouge – what should we know?
I’m a tattoo artist and I have my own tattoo studio called “Le Loup Rouge” meaning the Red Wolf in English. I do specialize in colored Neo-traditional tattoos, this tattoo style is inspired by the 1900 Art Nouveau. It is definitely more common in Europe, so I’m trying to bring a French touch to tattoos here. My tattoo studio (I like to call it more an Atelier) is very private and quiet, I think this is what my clients really enjoy about their experience here.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I think in my industry the most important is to listen and have a good communication with your clients, they are giving me a part of their body as a canvas and my design will be with them forever. You also always have to stay passionate with your craft, it’s an everyday challenge to create a unique design for everyone.
