Today we’d like to introduce you to Marisol Soto Garcia.
Marisol, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started as an immigrant with no direction just dreams and a whole lot of passion. I was brought here to the states at the age of four. I lived in a state of bewilderment and suppressed traumas all of my childhood.
My passion for the arts and my dreams to become someone of meaningful service is what kept me fighting. I’ve been blessed with guides, friends, and mentors along the way who have helped me get to where I am today. There is no way I could have made it here without them and without my faith.
After many years of college, one Bachelor’s degree later, and multiple attempts at entrepreneurship; I can finally say I am starting to see the fruits of my labor. There is no such thing as an overnight success, of that I am certain. All of the concepts and projects that I have been able to bring to life are products of years of work.
In addition, there is so much work that I have completed within myself to get to this current version of me. The ‘innermost work’ it is the foundation for everything I do.
2018 was a year of healing and repairing. I learned so much about my strength. Although it has always been in my nature to be optimistic and to remain positive, during this year, those qualities in me magnified. Because of that, I would call this year my tipping point.
I shifted the focus from helping others and redirected it to helping myself so that I can better serve. That includes my family, friends, and associates. I found that when we go inward we grow outward. All of our best qualities lie within us waiting to be unlocked if we dare to go that deep.
@squadxheartpower is a women’s empowerment brand inspired by my journey of personal development in 2015. @marilovesol is my IG hub where you can get a good mixture of: Love, social justice, music, art, food and clips of my career as a Financial Educator on a mission to eradicate financial illiteracy. @morewithmaripodcast is my IG page for my podcast where you can see curated visuals to go along with the episodes through my highlights.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
LOL, nothing smooth about this journey!
As an immigrant I did not qualify for traditional financial aid. I had to work multiple jobs to pay for college. I transferred to CSUF pregnant and graduated pregnant which I mention because it is funny to me now but it was not funny at the time.
I have dealt with having a miscarriage, losing loved ones, and deep state of depression along with all the other obstacles of timing and patience.
I have learned to embrace obstacles and challenges, it means you are close to your next breakthrough.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with More with Mari Podcast – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
My brand and everything I do is rooted in my heart power. It is embedded in my DNA to be of service to others. I uplift, and empower through my writings, through my podcast and through my educational services.
It is never about the bottom dollar and always about the connection the exchange of energy. Have I added intangible as well as tangible value to the table?
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I am writing a workbook on how to navigate doing the innermost work for everyone who would like to go deep and come out stronger and wiser.
I hope to finalize and publish this work by September. At this time, the first series of episodes for the more with podcast will be complete and we can start the workbook series together.
