Meet Marianne Gordon of Feng Shui with Me

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marianne Gordon.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I am a certified consultant from the Western School of Feng Shui with more than a decade of experience.

I became passionate about Feng Shui at around 15 years old, in France, when my older sister, who was in university studying acupuncture, introduced me to the Tao and Eastern philosophies.

During the following decade, I continued to research the subject avidly. After my Business studies (I graduated from one of the top schools in France), I decided to move to New York. All through my 8 year career in Finance in New York, I started a side activity teaching friends and acquaintances about Feng Shui. The amazing results my friends experienced let me to believe that I had to become a full-time practitioner.

I graduated from the Western School of Feng Shui in 2014. However, through the many years spent researching and learning, I did get training from other schools of Feng Shui as well. So, I practice the Western way when I see fit, and when I don’t I go to the Compass school way, which takes into account your compass directions.

My mission is to change people’s lives through Feng Shui so that they can access their truest and best selves.

I go to people’s homes and apply Feng Shui cures for a variety of issues related to health, finances, love and more and see unbelievable results.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has not been a smooth road, but what business owner has sailed on a perfectly smooth sea, with perfect wind conditions?

All the struggles I encountered along the way: how to master website design, how to navigate social media, how to get clients to actually implement the changes I suggest, or just how to find clients consistently, have taught new skills at every step of the way.

When I was a recent Business School graduate, did I ever think I would venture into such a difficult terrain as being a sole entrepreneur in a field that has nothing to do with Marketing or Finance? No.

Like every idealistic young graduate, I thought success would come to me much more naturally. I was smart and driven, what could stop me?

Well, little did I know that I was much more artistically and spiritually inclined than most people who have successful careers at big companies and climb the ladder. After 8 years, I just did not want to do that anymore. I learnt to listen to myself and trust my gifts. And the gifts were tangible: I was already helping friends and family improve their lives with my Feng Shui suggestions. So I went for it.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Feng Shui with Me – what should we know?
My business’s mission, Feng Shui with Me, is to help people transform their circumstances and achieve their goals by transforming their homes and offices, according to Feng Shui principles.

My technique is a holistic approach that combines mind-body-home awareness techniques. I listen to my clients carefully and respect their styles, tastes and particular situations.

Unlike most traditional Feng Shui Masters, I am also passionate about the aesthetics of a home or an office. I choose not to compromise style or comfort just for the sake of following rigid Feng Shui principles. I partner with many interior designers to make sure I never compromise on style.

Our best achievement, probably so far, is to have transformed people’s romantic life in a massive way. Helping people find their soulmate is my specialty I guess! (I am about to launch a Feng Shui course on how to attract your soulmate).

I am also known as a Feng Shui blogger on Mind Body Green. (When you publish articles on a topic, people just trust you more as an expert on the matter).

I am also known for performing house blessings with sage at people’s homes, and them reportedly feeling incredibly well for the weeks after.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
The person who most deserve credit is my sister for being my earliest teacher and introducing me to Eastern Philosophies, not just Feng Shui, that have made me more spiritual and grounded.

My husband is the greatest cheerleader. He refused that I get back into banking when things were tough and pushed me to continue on this journey.

I still rely on Terah Katherine Collins, my teacher at the Western School of Feng Shui. I admire her work, dedication and “delicious” personality (she would use that word).

The interior designers that I partner with on big projects (Aurelie Levy, Norma Marchand, just to name two) make everything look pretty great.
