Meet Marguerite Fair of Fair Productions in Burbank

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marguerite Fair.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Marguerite. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
First of all, I want to thank the Voyage for interviewing me. You have an amazing online magazine and I appreciate the opportunity. My name is Marguerite Fair, I am a writer, director, producer and filmmaker now residing in Burbank, CA. My journey started in Newark New Jersey and I know the most creative part of me is always that Jersey girl.

I am one of the few people from my high school graduating class that looks at the yearbook and is actually living the dream that was once only a wish: “Writer.” While it certainly did not happen overnight, I am endlessly grateful and happy about my journey to get me here.

My career kicked into gear in 1996, when after two children, two marriages and divorces, I stopped dreaming and started moving myself forward. At age 48, I ran away from home because I knew what I wanted to be when I grew up. I knew instinctively that this is where I needed to be to accomplish my goals and live the life I wanted.

I am an advocate for aging gracefully and knowing that it is never too late to pursue our dreams. Presently, I am in production for my first feature film, “The Racists.” TheRacists.biz.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I don’t think many people have a smooth road on this life journey, and I am no exception to that rule. Getting out of a second marriage, which was both abusive and frightening created a huge obstacle. While it delayed me in many ways, I gained experience, strength and courage to trust completely in my Higher Power.

I was living up on the side of a mountain in North Carolina, with a mentally ill and brutal second husband. I had no money, power or connections. Yet, I ended up here from there. For me, it was simply about praying and taking one step to get to the next one. Prayer with action is the answer to all challenging situations.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Fair Productions story. Tell us more about the business.
FairProductions.Biz is my company and reflects all the projects I have created and completed; including books, screenplays, shorts, plays and two web TV shows: “The M & M’s MMWebshow.com and “TheRealFakeNews.biz“.

My special joy is to make people laugh, learn not to take themselves too seriously, and inspire them to find what brings them joy… and just do it.

I am known for my love of laughter and extreme creativity, The fact that I am now 70 with a 30-year-old mentality truly set’s me apart from about 98 percent of the women in my age range. Many of my older friends spend their time complaining, taking medications and having an ongoing relationship with their doctors. Me? I get up every day and create.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Basically, I have learned that luck has nothing to do with anything. It’s a matter of being spiritually conscious, know your true nature and learning to control your thoughts.

Maintaining ownership of your life choices and learning to make better choices is what this life is all about. I now make better choices and understand that I can do whatever I truly believe I can do. That is true for everyone. A daily Spiritual practice of gratitude is essential for my well-being and productivity.

Another secret to create a good life is to put distance between yourself and the negative people who drain your energy. It is okay for them, not so much for you.
