Meet Margie Woods of Margie Woods Photography and Language of the Soul Studio in Venice

Today we’d like to introduce you to Margie Woods.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I have been an artist and photographer since I was a child. As an adult, after finishing my masters in psychology, I found a way to combine it all and pursue my passions as a “job”. I teach creativity workshops and also am a portrait photographer. My passion is helping people to see their own innate creative genius and beauty. Both avenues of my work serve to do this in unique ways.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The biggest struggle for me was trusting my path and allowing it to look different than the norm(i.e.: not worrying about what others were thinking), all the while believing in it as “valid” or important. I feel that one of my greatest gifts has been to allow myself to follow the thread of my life (despite its unconventional trajectory)so that I could find the best way to serve in this world. It has not always been easy, but it has been so worthwhile!

Margie woods photography/language of the soul studio – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I specialize in soulful portraits that have been reported to truly capture people’s true essence. I also am a mixed media artist who believes that art heals deeply. I strive to share this truth with people through my art journaling workshops. I am most proud of the moments in my career when people look at their portraits and see their true deep beauty. I am also proud when I can see the lightbulb go off in one of my art students minds as they see and fell their own unique creative genius! I think my gift is that I can truly connect with people on a deep level and can help them to re-connect with themselves in the same way by mirroring their beauty and genius back to them. I am a lover and I try to spread love throughout my work and life. I can say that I truly love my clients, and am so honored to work with such beautiful souls in such an intimate way!.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success for me is living a whole and balanced life. My greatest success is being able to do what I love while also serving and helping others to grow and heal!
