Meet Margi Kent of Margi Kent Studio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Margi Kent.

Margi, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started as a fine art major in college that morphed into fashion design. I started designing a small collection that was picked up and sold exclusively in several Beverly Hills boutiques. The collection garnered attention that interested large retailers and was then picked up by Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, I. Magnin and boutiques across the country.

During this period I started doing custom clothing for an exclusive clientele in the film, tv and music industry. Over the years I have established ongoing relationships with many iconic entertainers.

My work has been featured in Rolling Stone, Harpers Bazaar, Instyle & my Costume Designs have been featured in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, The Grammy Museum, and the Rock and Roll exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

I currently have a retail store and studio/showroom in Los Angeles that offers retail sales and custom designs.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
As with any business, there are highs and lows. I have been fortunate enough to have very dedicated clients, and I believe that the quality and integrity of the product speaks for itself.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with MARGI KENT STUDIO – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.

The most classic ensembles are featured in the permanent collection of The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, The Metropolitan Museum in New York and The Grammy Museum in Los Angeles. My work has also been featured in O Magazine, People, In Style, W, Harper’s Bazaar, Rolling Stone, GQ and Vogue.

Our showroom in Los Angeles also carries the current ready-to-wear collections. We have an online store as well.

We work with the highest quality fabrics from around the world and design a proportioned look for the individual that we are working with, that is specifically unique to them- whether it is on stage or for everyday life.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
