Meet Marcell Rekasi of Wanted for Nothing in West Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marcell Rekasi.

Marcell, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I moved out to Los Angeles almost four years ago with the goal to establish my own consulting agency.

I was born in New Orleans and raised in Hungary. I started working when I was 14 years old. At that time, I was applying for summer jobs in England so that I would be able to make money and kick-start my own business later on. That experience was imperative because it broadened my vision. Not only did I gain international exposure, but I also learned a valuable lesson about the key to success— persistence.

I started my first company when I was 17 in London. This was an event recruitment company. My main focus has always been on connecting people, finding new opportunities, and most importantly, adding value. Even today, these are still my core principles.

After I moved to Los Angeles, I started working at Fortune 500 companies. This is when I learned how to adapt to the U.S. business culture. I also used this time to grow my network and establish my agency, while at the same time, exceeding all my sales quotas.

At Wanted for Nothing we focus on adding a strategic approach to our Partner’s business. I always break this down as optimizing operations, saving time, increasing conversions, growing revenue or building a scalable product.

This is our goal: To create long-term collaborations and grow with talented teams.

We work with anyone from early-stage startups to public companies. Our main service areas are strategy, UX/UI design, tailored development, and custom ecommerce solutions.

WFN has scaled up to 20 full-time employees in the past year and we’re not planning to slow down until we reach 1000

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Taking the step to move to a new country by itself is challenging, but moving to a new country where you don’t know anyone, didn’t graduate from a local college and don’t have work experience definitely makes it harder. Not to mention you’re far away from your family and friends…

Besides the personal side, any business will always give you challenges and problems to solve. I think every milestone of your journey will give you different obstacles. For instance – WFN’s first year was hectic when we were trying to set up and implement the core processes (time, project, account management, etc.).

Now, in the 3rd year, I’m working to figure out how can we scale from 20 to 100 and expand our operations to target EU-based companies.

Regardless of the many challenges along the way, it’s priceless when you win together with your clients and help them get to the next level.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Wanted for Nothing – what should we know?
Wanted for Nothing is a Los Angeles based digital agency that focuses on strategy, UX/UI design and tailored development. One of our biggest differentiators is the strategic approach that we add to all of our collaborations.

WFN is a diverse group of thought-leaders in the tech and design fields. My team and I are always working hard to stay on top of trends. We take pride in consistently delivering work to the highest industry standards, finding new ways to improve and bringing value to our clients with our expertise.

We have a network of dedicated professionals across the US and Europe to help bring your ideas to life around the clock. Our diverse backgrounds allow us to bring together a wealth of skills and knowledge so that we can quickly scale it to adapt to any business.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
The strategic approach, transparency and the value that we create. We’re always transparent with our clients and advise what we think is best for their business.

A good example is when an early-stage startup contacts us for a new project. During the discovery process, we always make sure we’re clear on the scope of work, target audience, and features that are most important for their business. We also make sure that their post-launch strategy is in place. We want to make sure that they’re planning and forecasting accurately right from the start.

Another good example is that whenever we receive a project RFP, we do quick research on the client, client’s industry, trends and compare the RFP with our research and expertise. We make sure that the features/deliverables they’re requesting align with their business and makes sense to their target audience. This helps us to be spot on from the start and can come in as consultants.

We are entrepreneurs ourselves, and we know what to focus on and how to build up / scale a successful business.
