Meet Marc Fajardo of Jive Duck Studios in Burbank

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marc Fajardo.

Marc, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Dante Swain, David Chan, Jerome Revilla and I are co-founders of Jive Duck Studios. We’ve been friends for years before we started our company. We all used to teach an aspect of multi-media to elementary school kids for an afterschool program around the LA Unified School District. One day we thought it would be a cool idea to start a business using the skills that we already know in multi-media, and open it up to the creative professional field. David does photography, headshots, and website design. Dante and I handle audition tapings. And Jerome is a magician with graphic designing. David and Dante also do photoshop retouching as well.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been smooth, yet it hasn’t been overwhelmingly challenging. Some of the struggles we’ve faced is usually with time management like during pilot season where we get an overabundance of clients so it can become difficult to manage along with our personal lives. And then once summer hits, it becomes dry season. So no financial flow for a couple of months. We’ve also been progressing in our quality of our production on a technical level and artistic level. David has been producing creative backgrounds for his headshot department and Dante has been purchasing high end camera equipment as well as sound management for our studio walls.

Please tell us about Jive Duck Studios.
Jive Duck Studios is a Los Angeles based production house designed with actors & all-around artists in mind. Our services include photography, video, graphics, web design, audition taping, editing, demo reel construction, marketing and much more. JDS founders (David Chan, Jerome Revilla, Marc Fajardo, & Dante Swain) put their decades of creative & technical talents together to form this multimedia studio during the summer of 2013. They pride themselves in understanding client needs, staying current with industry standards, and highlighting your best talents with the best quality product at a fraction of the cost. Jive Duck Studios is your all-inclusive, one-stop-shop to your industry related multimedia needs.

What I am most proud of is when an actor emails us saying that they’ve “BOOKED THE GIG” that we’ve helped them tape, or that their agent or manager loves their photos/website/one-sheet. It’s so cool sharing happiness with other actors/artists along their journey.

What sets us apart from others is that we have so much empathy for our actors that come in. We know what’s expected and especially how to manage the emotional atmosphere when coming in for an audition taping or headshot session. It can be very delicate at times but we know how to make it a pleasant experience where our clients leave empowered.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Dancing and lip synching in front of my Filipino family for $1 at the age of 7.
