Meet Mara Hall of Marley Nicole Productions in Glendale

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mara Hall.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Mara. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I was a band director in Detroit, MI and got laid off from the Detroit Public school district. After this happened, I went back to grad school at the University of Southern Mississippi and was totally uninterested in music and started taking acting classes with the theatre department. I met a great group of thespians and they talked me into auditioning for the Main Stage Production entitled Blood Wedding by Frederico Garcia Lorca. I auditioned and got a lead part in the play. Soon after that, I quit my Doctoral program and moved to Los Angeles in 2007.

Has it been a smooth road?
It has been an adventure! Maintaining and balancing several jobs to stay afloat in LA was hard. But once you get in your groove and figure out what works for you it becomes much easier.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
I am an actress and my production company is called Marley Nicole Productions. I named my company after my beautiful nine-month-old daughter. I am known for my many acting roles on Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, The Resident and coming up, Ambitions on the Oprah Winfrey Network.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
YES, if you have the training, drive, and ambition, you can make it in LA. But it takes hard work, dedication and perseverance! It doesn’t happen overnight. It takes ten years to be an overnight success.
