Meet Maksim Leonov of MaksMODAnce in Orange County

Today we’d like to introduce you to Maksim Leonov.

Maksim, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Ballroom dancing, including; choreography, music, costume design, hairstyles and make-up, became an excellent base for my creative self-realization. After earning my degree in choreography, I decided to expand the scope of my abilities and prove myself in the fashion industry by earning a Masters Degree in Art.

At the same time, I starred on the TV show “Dancing with the Stars” in Belarus and also created choreography for music videos and other TV projects.

An important step in my career was moving from Belarus (a small conservative country within the geographical center of Europe) to the United States a country of broad views and great opportunities, where I continued my professional career first as a choreographer and then as a stylist for various fashion shows (Los Angeles Fashion Week, Art Hearts Fashion Week, OC Fashion Week, Los Angeles Fashion Showcase).

Meeting talented people from the fashion industry – photographers, designers, artists, models – inspired me to create new masterpieces and gave me a strong desire to move forward and achieve excellence.

In a short time, I was pleased to see my first results as a stylist and art director. My work was published in numerous fashion magazines (British GQ, British Vogue, British Glamor, ELEGANT Magazine, Zensations Magazine, EnVie Magazine, AVANT GARDE Magazine, 7HUES Magazine, Gilded Magazine ).

As a fashion expert and art critic for the project “Dance Fashion”, I had a series of interviews with the stars of the Dance World and representatives of the most famous brands within this industry.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The biggest challenge for me was the language barrier.
