Meet Maia Modeste of VIPER by KCH

Today we’d like to introduce you to Maia Modeste.

Maia, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I moved to LA in 2017 with a clear plan of exactly what I wanted to do in the entertainment industry and beyond. The combination of my strong work ethic and passion for what I do has allowed me to build a life that’s perfectly aligned with my purpose. I dedicated my time to professional training and learning as much as I can while surrounding myself with like-minded creatives. I also put God first and made it a point to never compromise my morals or ethics.

Three years later, I am an actress, filmmaker, fashion designer, President of Viper by KCH, and program director for Richard Lawson Studios & WACO Theater Center’s youth program: Films Made By Teens, For Teens.

I am extremely blessed and thankful to have the opportunity to be a leader in the industries I love and ultimately push the culture forward.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I would be lying to say that building my career has been smooth sailing or easy. While there have been many obstacles, especially as a black woman, giving up on my dreams is not an option. There is no issue I can’t face or problem that cannot be solved with continued effort and a good attitude.

I am aware that I will face obstacles for my entire career. I have made a conscious decision to be aware of the obstacles and committed to overcome them instead of complaining about them.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with VIPER by KCH – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
VIPER by KCH is a hospitality agency that manages guest experience on behalf of the world’s largest brand and we are continuously raising the bar with innovative ideas on a global scale.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
2020 has been a year of self-reflection and strategic planning. I’m really looking forward to the continued growth of all of my projects in addition to the development of new initiatives related to social justice and youth empowerment.
