Today we’d like to introduce you to Mack Andgold.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I’m a musician from the Coachella Valley desert, just a few hours outside of LA. I was a kid who just really needed to entertain everyone around me and grew into a bored and unfulfilled teenager. At 15, I found a lot of comfort and purpose in picking up a guitar, singing, storytelling, overall performing and I just never put that guitar down. I moved to LA in 2014 and through much trial and tribulation, I kept the dream alive. Now, I let it take me wherever it is I’m going.
Please tell us about your art.
I write music to move people. Physically, emotionally, spiritually… it doesn’t matter. I love connecting with other humans. I love sharing our pain, our happiness, our shame, and our vulnerability. I feel free to do that when I write music or step onto a stage. I feel full when I do it and I like to think Im pretty good at it. The message is freedom to be. The inspiration is, hey, it’s all good baby, I’m me and you’re you so let’s dance about it and help each other feel alright on this nice floating rock we call home.
As an artist, how do you define success and what quality or characteristic do you feel is essential to success as an artist?
Success to me is the love I feel from anyone my art affects. Big or small scale, when someone tells me how they connected with what I made or did, and how that helped them feel like they aren’t alone. That really makes me feel like a superhero. I believe gratitude and perspective are the most essential to success in this world. There are so many creators and we all have our path. Staying humble and just being grateful for your journey is what I think is at the core of it all.
How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
Come out to a show! Say hello! Share the music! Buy the tunes! Buy a T-shirt or something (when I make em)!
