Meet Lumi Ugo of Lumi K. Productions

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lumi Ugo.

Hi Lumi, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My husband introduced me to the photography and videography business when we met 7+ years ago. He has been in the business for 10+ years but we have been doing photography/videography together since we’ve met. We enjoy what we do because we get to do it together. We do weddings, social events, photoshoots, birthday shoots, you name it.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Nothing good comes easy. Us trying to not put the business as the main thing in our relationship was definitely a challenge in the beginning because we were afraid that the business would take over our relationship, and we would only be talking about the business. Well at least for me, that was my fear. We would be on a date and we would catch ourselves just talking about the business, lol. It was becoming all about the business and not so much of our relationship. But God blessed me with such a wise man that he found a way to make it about us again. I wouldn’t trade any of our struggles in our business and personal lives for anything in the world because the struggles have made us stronger and closer.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We specialize in everything when it comes to photography and videography. I enjoy covering events, especially weddings, and my husband also enjoys weddings, shooting short skits, talk shows, modeling shoots, etc. Running this business as a couple is super awesome because we are always looking for ways to improve together and as individuals. We invest so much time and money into our business because being mediocre is not acceptable. What we do is very competitive, so we are always upgrading our equipment, learning about new software for edits, learning about lighting, etc. Wedding photography/videography can get really stressful because you are capturing memories, and I wouldn’t want anyone to mess up my special day so why mess up theirs. We make sure that we don’t miss anything when we are covering events because special moments cannot be missed.

What are your plans for the future?
We are definitely excited about the future. We plan the future but God approves. Can’t say too much about what the future holds but we are looking forward to doing bigger and better things
