Meet Luke and Jake Davies of OF LIMBO in Long Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Luke and Jake Davies.

Luke and Jake, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My brother (Jake) and I (Luke) were raised in Melbourne, Australia. Growing up on rock ’n’ roll, we developed a passion for playing music together, one that would lead us to Long Beach, California. With the addition of Herbie Brady on bass and Juan Paz on drums, we are now OF LIMBO. After playing shows for three years across LA and Orange County, we finally found what was to be our breakout opportunity: a 36 show tour all across the US and Canada. But it wasn’t to be…

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
On the morning of April 29th, we experienced a catastrophic van accident en route to North Carolina for the opening date of our first national tour. While traveling on the interstate outside of Oklahoma City, one of the back tires popped, spinning the vehicle out of control. The van rolled several times on the highway before breaking through the roadside barrier, and falling into a ditch.

Miraculously, all of us survived, despite sustaining some broken bones and concussions. Three months off has given us a lot of time and inspiration to write and record. Our newest album, which we can announce for the first right now, will be titled “Live Forever”.

Almost completely recovered, we are nearly ready to get back on the horse and begin playing live again. We feel more than ever that we have a purpose now that we survived for a reason: our music needs to be heard.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the OF LIMBO story. Tell us more about the business.
We pride ourselves on making every show a party. Our high-energy performances create an electric atmosphere that is infectious, making it impossible not to have fun. Our latest release, ‘NICOTINE’, is further proof that we don’t follow whatever happens to be the current trend, but instead have a refreshingly unique hard-rock sound. Keep an eye on us in the near future.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
We’re lucky to still be alive.
