Meet Inez Garcia of Lueur Beauty Bar in Ventura

Today we’d like to introduce you to Inez Garcia.

Inez, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I have always been into beauty since I can remember, at age five when I got into my older sisters makeup bag I knew exactly where to put the eyeshadow, the blush, the lipstick and the mascara and since then my family knew I would one day make it into a career and although I had a few bumps in the road (a child at 19).

Fast forward to 2013 at age 34, with a daughter in high school and after leaving the insurance industry after 11 years (2000-2011) I took a leap of faith and followed my dreams. I decided to start working in a salon, enrolled in beauty school, begin working for one of the biggest leading cosmetic companies as well until 2017 when I decided to open my very own skincare studio. Although it was scary and I had many doubts, I pushed through and here I am three years later a licensed esthetician and working and owning one of the most busiest little skincare studios in Ventura county. I specialize in makeup, skincare and waxing.

Has it been a smooth road?
It most definitely was not a smooth road, never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would be a business owner let alone a licensed esthetician or a certified makeup artist. I had a daughter at 19, a job that paid the bills, until one day I told myself I had to follow my dreams and after long days and nights, many tears, many breakdowns, almost giving up I finally finished beauty school with two jobs on top of raising a teenager alone I was a licensed esthetician with the state of California.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Lueur Beauty Bar story. Tell us more about the business.
I own Lueur beauty bar a private skincare studio located in Ventura specializing in skincare, makeup and waxing. My proudest moments are helping people reach their skincare goals whether they have suffered from acne, any type of damage whether it be hormonal or sun damage knowing I have given them confidence they have never had gives me the satisfaction that I am exactly where I need to be. Being able to be a part of someone’s special day such as their wedding, their baby shower, engagement photos, etc.. will forever be my passion. I have always been a huge believer of, “the only thing that will set me apart from the rest will be my service” so I strive to make every single person feel as comfortable in my treatment room/studio as if they would be in their own home with an old friend (me) just hanging out.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Prior to the pandemic, I had already starting looking into a new location to expand my studio up possibly offer other licensed professionals a new space to share with me whether it be strictly skincare & makeup or a full-service salon. So although the pandemic has put those plans on hold for now, they have not been forgotten.
