Meet Ludvic from GOLDEN AGE in West Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ludvic Orlando.

Ludvic, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Jesse was working in sales and I was making shoes in Asia for some high-street brands.

Driven by our passion for vintage fashion and Old Hollywood movies, we decided one year ago to create a story telling brand and retail concept mixing a rare VINTAGE clothing selection & NEW shoes inspired by the golden era of Hollywood from 1920’s to the 50’s.

We wanted our first flagship store and design studio to be in LA connected to current fashion focuses and to our main source of inspiration. Here we are a year later!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
We have been able to plan this challenging venture by putting the right assets behind the product design, sourcing the best suppliers and creating a clear brand identity and strategy. We came to LA in October 2016 to find the perfect retail location and prepare our move to California.

We arrived in January 2017 and within a month of intense work, we manufactured our shoes in Brazil, opened our store on Melrose Avenue and launched GOLDEN AGE during Inspiration LA fair in February!

The challenge now is to promote GOLDEN AGE as the new player in the fashion competition…

GOLDEN AGE – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
GOLDEN AGE shoes are handcrafted in the same way they used to be: using high end leather quality, but adapted to today’s sizes and fit. The dream for a woman looking for an authentic and timeless design at her size and with long lasting quality!

We aim and are proud to inspire fashion trends as we believe the best look is a mix of unique vintage items with modern designs, so is our vintage selection: unique and authentic. That is why lots of fashion designers, costume designers, stylists and artists are shopping in GOLDEN AGE to prepare future collections and to dress influencing people differently!

Our retail store is a very unique time-capsule experience: its design is between an old theater with classic pictures projection and a modern mystic atmosphere with electronic music and minimalist decoration. The only one store of its kind.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Our vision of success is to spread our GOLDEN AGE look worldwide, being present major fashion cities.

Our mission is to be ahead of trends and influence future fashion with a touch of Hollywood glamour and exoticism.

A strong presence on social media and online is essential.

Collaborating with iconic brands in fashion and other domains is also part of our strategy to team up and deliver the unexpected…

Being surrounded by selected ambassadors of our look and our attitude is a priority to relay our identity and being the faces of GOLDEN AGE.
