Today we’d like to introduce you to Christine Raven Aletheia.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Christine. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
In 1989 at 9 years old, I had a profound realization around the relationship between food and my body’s health. By the age of 14 I was a vegetarian and eating gluten free in a small town on the East Coast, learning everything I could from our local library, I began to self-study nutrition and herbology and used this knowledge to heal myself.
As this passion for health developed I began to study and seek more knowledge of ancient cultures and traditions and their various ways of healing. I was also a student of performance theatre and music and was planning my “escape” from this small town on the East Coast of Maryland to visionary progressive California. In 1997 my dream came true and I attended California Institute of the Arts for my bachelor’s degree in performance and music.
I studied with many amazing world music teachers as well as voice and movement teachers. I resonated deeply with Indian and African music and created many performance art pieces inspired by their sounds and taking a deeper look at the human organism, always studying the body and mind and more specifically the complex relationship between the audience and the performer. After graduating I found myself still on a healing journey and still hungry for more knowledge. My desire was to help others find their way into healing as well. My interest in the audience/performer relationship would develop into my deep passion for the practitioner/patient relationship and these lines continue to blur and dance together to this very day.
I attended Emperors College of traditional Chinese Medicine where my passion for Tai Chi, Qi Gong and other ancient healing modalities that I had studied as a performer would find its marriage with the study of herbalism and Acupuncture. After this 5 years of study at Emperors for my Master’s degree in TCM which included internships at UCLA and many many hours of clinical practice, I started my own private practice LuckyStar Wellness.
In 2008, I had my first child and the learning continued. My practice was simultaneously built alongside my journey into motherhood and so I became a specialist in the healing modalities related to children and mothers. To date I work alongside The SCV Birth Center where we combine forces to care for many mothers and children of the Santa Clarita valley and beyond.
My practice has also developed through teaching many courses in Holistic nutrition for families as a volunteer and leader for The Holistic Moms Network and I continue today to develop protocols for nutrition and healing to meet the needs of our modern mama’s lifestyle.
I have continued to study with many amazing healers and teachers over the past ten years of professional practice and that learning has included the study of Mantra yoga, Aroma-acu point (the use of essential oils on Acupuncture points), Acu-tonics the use of tuning forks on Acupuncture points, Tuina massage therapy for pediatrics, Acupressure for labor techniques, Cosmetic Acupuncture and Cosmobiological Acupuncture.
I am continually learning from my patients and children as I grow into a practice which combines my passions for holistic living, organic superfood nutrition, ancient healing modalities, planetary influences and the magic and mystery of sound.
Today you will find me taking private clients at LuckyStar Wellness where my primary goal is to inspire others into self-healing and the resounding message that we are all born healers. I live to inspire humans into greatness inspiring others into conscious living practices that have often been forgotten for many generations. Through the rise of our consciousness we can truly heal any disease, cure any ailment, and balance the human organism into greatness.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
As a mother of two amazing children, being a mother has been my first priority, while I don’t consider this an obstacle, it has had its challenges. I also have had to move many times in the early years of my practice before I found my current location in SCV. However, because my work is also my love and passion owning LuckyStar Wellness has never felt like “work”. I have been blessed with a business that has been referral based for many years. I have not sought to advertise mostly because of my desire to be a mother first. I feel blessed to have been able to share my knowledge as a healing facilitator alongside growing as a mother and teacher. This combination has actually facilitated some of my most valuable learning experiences. Today I actively share knowledge with families and patients around holistic nutrition, conscious living and balancing life as a mama, sharing ancient wisdom for modern times.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with LuckyStar Wellness – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
LuckyStar Wellness specializes in holistic family medicine. We are a private practice where you can come in for a Nutritional consultation that will benefit the whole family. I am a licensed Acupuncturist and also offer non-needle techniques for children (or adults!) which include e-stim Acupuncture, tuning forks and tuina massage therapy.
We are known for our unique and comforting space that really feels like an oasis in the urban environment. Kids love it here. I make it comfortable for them to come here and they actually want to. This gives parents the power to have a professional opinion of their child’s health without the trauma of “going to the doctor”. While my services are no replacement for a pediatric visit we are considered a general health care provider and can help guide parents away from fear and into confident knowing of your child’s health needs. We are thrilled to have a growing pediatric business and look forward to growing with them too!
I am most proud of my patients who have grown with me over the past few years in this location. I am proud of the community which has grown as well and for more people here who are seeking alternative and holistic medicine as primary care. I am so grateful to be able to provide a holistic option that is affordable and beneficial both individually and for the health of the community.
What sets LuckyStar Wellness apart from other companies in SCV is my unique relationship as a mother and community member. I really feel like a village doctor here and I get to have close relationships with many children here who I have known since their mothers came to me for fertility treatments! I have literally known many of my patients since they were in the womb! It is such a gift to be loved by so many amazing little humans, and to be able to influence them into healthy choices into their futures. I am also blessed to be connected to The SCV Birth Center and helping mothers and fathers into their parenting journeys, supporting them with holistic healing along the way!
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
LuckyStar Wellness is excited to be offering Community Acupuncture workshops once a month at The SCV Birth center. This is an incredible way to receive an Acupuncture session at a discounted price and also be a part of an intimate community experience. I incorporate mantra yoga into these experiences as well as other sound healing modalities such as singing bowls and gongs. These experiences combine planetary awareness with each session so in addition to receiving an individualized acupuncture session you are experiencing a soundscape that is aligned with the planetary activity of the times, connecting us deeper to both our inner and outer worlds. This allows our bodies and minds to truly integrate us into the present moment and opens us to our truest and highest potential.
I truly believe that any experience that allows someone to feel connected to a higher force, whatever they believe that to be, god etc. is the highest and most profound form of personal healing available to us. The word “human” actually means “god conscious” and this is what sets us apart from the animal kingdom as a species. We require a deeper spiritual connection to thrive in development and that is what I am most passionate about sharing with others. I am also teaching these courses at festivals and special events and plan to do more of this sharing in the future. I would also like to be able to share knowledge and inspire healing in others, who may be living in less privileged environments as well. I plan to work towards expanding these offerings this year.
