Meet Louis Tanguay of Circle Marketing

Today we’d like to introduce you to Louis Tanguay.

Louis started Circle Marketing in the middle of the Great Recession. Having 15 years of marketing experience and online business building, he found himself laid off from his second full time job in a row. Collecting a tiny weekly Unemployment, and with the job market in the bleakest condition in decades, it was a challenging and frustrating time. Determined to never be a victim of circumstances he couldn’t control, he decided to start Circle Marketing in August 2010.

The idea behind Circle Marketing was that Small Businesses need high-quality marketing and during tough times they just don’t have the budgets to be able to take a swing and miss on a marketing vendor.

Therefore, he decided he’d bring his 15 years of experience, along with some of his fellow industry expert colleagues, and they’re provide a big agency level of professionalism and strategic thinking that Small Business Owners previously never have had access to.

The company was a hit from the start, with the Gotham Screen International Film Festival as the company’s first client. The event was a huge success, and more successes followed. From local gyms and yoga studios, to public speakers, to local Los Angeles business owners and even a couple campaigns for BMW, Circle Marketing’s full-service marketing slate can help any and all size businesses get that kind of big agency thinking and quality for a small agency pricing model.

Also proudly hiring all United States employees, Circle Marketing keeps local talented marketing professionals working. The core team has been together for the entire 7 years, and most work on every project together. This type of team building keeps the quality high-level and consistent from one project to the next and creative and effective and efficient marketing process which is second to none.

Has it been a smooth road?
Surprisingly, the road to where we are now was actually smoother than one would expect. Sure, there were speed bumps and learning moments during the occasional touch-and-go phases which inevitably popped up for all businesses, but Louis has a different philosophy than most business owners when it comes to operations and business strategy which has served the company well.

The mindset is to think of your business as a boat. Little cracks in the structure don’t sink the ship, but if gone unrepaired, those little cracks become bigger and let more and more water in until one of them rips open a hole in the hull and the water rushes in to sink your ship. This analogy explains our thinking perfectly. We are constantly looking for where these cracks might be in our business, process, system, and strategies. Before waiting until something “doesn’t work” anymore or something completely fails, we’re constantly looking at ways to improve what we do, keep up with the newest tools and trends, and keep a crackless hull with a smooth sailing ship!

Circle Marketing is a Full-Service Marketing Company. This means that we can take any business and be the one-stop-shop for all your marketing needs. I LOVE the diversity of the city. Not just in the demographic sense of the word, but in the diverse amount of people, activities, professions, and lifestyles. Literally anything and everything you could ever want to do with your life…you can do it here in Los Angeles; and trust me, people DO anything they possibly can dream up. hahaha.

I honestly do not dislike anything about Los Angeles. Is everything perfect? Of course not, but to complain about the things most people complain about (traffic, the Valley heat, or taxes), people are focusing on the negatives which they can’t change. That’s only going to make you more frustrated and upset and stressed.

I don’t worry about “everyday life” things about Los Angeles, because it just is what it is.

If you don’t like something, there’s always a solution and a way to correct it. To state a cheesy cliched song…”We love L.A.! We love it!”
