Meet Los Angeles Video Production and Photography Team: Oscar and Carlos Vera

Today we’d like to introduce you to Oscar and Carlos Vera.

Veras Productions is a team of brothers-Oscar and Carlos, who started the company in 2001. They began as kids shooting puppets with their dad’s video camera and haven’t stopped since. They developed their photoshoot and event coverage from the ground up, now providing a one-stop shop for clients, from hair and makeup to a personalized final edit. They also do film production, most recently an indie film, Psychic.

Has it been a smooth road?
Obtaining the necessary equipment and customers in the beginning was challenging.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and career?
When we first started out, we got a regular camera and a video camera and didn’t know what to do next and where to get the customers. Then we got a call out of the blue to cover a wedding. We showed up, did our thing, and they were really happy with it. After that, the call started pouring in.

Do you feel like there are certain traits that increase the likelihood of success?
A Personalized plan and great customer service. We meet with clients in the comfort of their own home and show how we can cover their unique event, tailoring our photography and final editing to fit exactly what they are hoping for. We make sure to customize our coverage of the event to highlight every special moment, and that requires an in-depth conversation that will capture all their special memories just how they imagined it.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
LA is the city of dreams-anything really is possible. Everyday people are creating beautiful moments, whether business or personal. The sky is the limit. If you can dream it up, you can make it happen! It just requires a lot of elbow grease and a ton of faith that what you’re doing will catch on and people will take notice. The thing that’s hard about LA besides the usual traffic and pollution is there’re so MANY people here-it’s a sprawled-out tangled urban playground. Finding the right people to connect to can be a challenge.
