Meet Celebrity Stylist, Blogger, TV & Online Personality: Marina BerBeryan

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marina BerBeryan.

Marina, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My styling career started in Los Angeles. With over a decade of professional celebrity styling experience, I styled music videos played on MTV, commercials, fashion shows and celebrity red carpet. My career has been a journey with many lessons learned, attesting that nothing comes easily and to never give up on goals or dreams.

Has it been a smooth road?

I guess somewhat it’s been a smooth road however, there are always little hiccups along the way. Some of the struggles that I have encountered was in the beginning of my career — getting a head start as I had no mentor and wasn’t sure how to or where to start. Although my modeling and acting career at a young age help me a bit but it wasn’t much. I did an extensive research and took upon several non-paying styling projects to get my foot in the door. I got rejected many times in the beginning of my career, whether it was pulling a gown for a B-list celebrity styling for a movie premiere or applying for a styling position. What I have learned is that networking and making connections is one of the major roles to succeed in this business. Also, to never give up no matter how challenging it gets. I kept on reminding myself that it’s not going to be easy road to get a head start in this field and that anything I do will require persistence, patience, and determination. There is a lot that goes on in the background as a stylist that many people can’t even fathom. It’s not all about playing all day with fancy gowns, shopping or having lunch with celebrity clients.

What were you like growing up?
My parents tell me I was shy, polite, sensitive, always curious, happy, persistent and stubborn. As for interests I have always been fashion oriented and loved animals.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?

My favorite childhood memory would be when I was about 5 years of age going into the deep forest in Ukraine to pick mushrooms and delicious berries with my grandparents followed by a swim in the nearby lake.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I am currently working on several projects and collaborating with different high-end brands and at the same time raising my three children.
