Today we’d like to introduce you to Zsa Cakes.
Zsa, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
When I was a young girl I always played with my Barbie dolls dressing them up doing there and playing with my big pink dollhouse as I got older my plastic cell dolls turned into human dolls.lol
I loved clothing but I never liked to wear things that everyone else was wearing, so I begin to design different outfits for myself and it slowly turned into a clothing line.
I started doing my own photography for the kandie Dollhouse because no one understood my vision and always made me feel like my ideas were weird and not good enough.
I mostly work alone from clothing to shoots to styling the models.
All money that is made through the kandie dollhouse is used towards opening an all girl group home for adults with disabilities.
This has been a journey for me I am also a single mom of a beautiful little boy, I work very hard to balance both but my son always tells “Me mommy never give up’! And I don’t.
Has it been a smooth road?
My biggest struggle was your months after giving birth to my son we had an apartment fire.we lost everything including our home.we were homeless and moving from family member to family member because we were being put out of everyone’s home.
Has there been people or an institution that has played a pivotal role in your career?
My best friend Daniel Wright played a very big part in my career. He taught me how to shoot and he pushed me to do better.
I had another friend that played a part of my career he would always put me down and change my concepts of my shoot or my outlook on my company and that’s what pushed me to pick up a camera.
Other than that, no one has played a big part, to be honest, I don’t have many supporters.
What kind of work do you look forward to most?
I would love to do a runway show in Hollywood with an opening act of a burlesque routine.
I would love to work with Kylie Jenner, Katey Perry, Nicki Minaj, Jeffree star the list goes on…
What have been some of the most important lessons you’ve learned over the course of your career?
To not listen to all the negativity, stop second guessing myself. Believe in myself.
