Meet Lorena Ramirez of HealthyHyna in Downtown

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lorena Ramirez.

Lorena, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Wussup! My name is Lorena A.K.A. @ProfitPrincesa, most commonly known as @HealthyHyna. I’m an influencer and a “chef” but I’m not your typical conservative culinary chef. I represent the hood vegans in a white-dominated industry bringing authentic vegan Mexican food to POC communities to inspire and encourage a plant-based diet demonstrating easy accessibility despite living in the hood. I started my whole journey by creating vegan recipe videos and vlogs for my YouTube channel. It’s uncommon to come across a vegan Mexican family so I wanted to make myself transparent and let others know WE OUT HERE! ProfitPrincesa is a personal lifestyle brand where I document my road to success and the BTS footage of building my HealthyHyna business. Now, I’ve hosted a sold out cooking class and provide private dinners and cooking classes for celebrities.

Has it been a smooth road?
The road has not been easy and it still gets difficult at times. It’s what all the rappers talk about in their song lyrics. The hustle and coming up, friends that were cool with you but are low key hating, the family members that don’t understand what you’re doing, the distractions of a relationship, etc. I was going through different kinds of struggles, emotionally and financially. I was adjusting to a new lifestyle being a single mom and having to start at square one with no income. Lol. I’m a super optimistic person so every time I’m in a difficult situation I always find a way to persevere I’m built for the entrepreneurship life, it’s in my blood!

So, as you know, we’re impressed with HealthyHyna – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
HealthyHyna is premium vegan Mexican cuisine brand that provides online informational products such as recipe’s, videos, etc. to inspire and encourage a plant-based diet to people of color. I also want to make it known for those of us who live in the hood or who are considered “low-income” the possibility of being vegan and its accessibility and affordability (it’s not just a white people thing) despite the area we live in. I also host private, exclusive cooking classes/lessons and private dinners. My hood vegan-ness sets me apart from the others! My style and culture! And the fact that you are being taught by an actual Mexican! I’m proud that HealthyHyna is an original brand and you can just feel it. When you rock with HealthyHyna you are showing that you are proud of your culture and your roots, whether your Latino/x or not.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love the way my culture is adored in LA. Everyone from around the world is inspired by the city! I love the constant movement, hustle and bustle. I dislike the traffic and parking. Lol.
