Meet Lorena Martinez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lorena Martinez.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Colombian Clinical Psychologist, Meditation Coach, Reiki, Akashic Record, Breathwork, and Family Constellation practitioner. When I moved with my husband to the united states in 2016, I encountered my first obstacle as an immigrant. I realized My Colombian Clinical Psychology degree would not be enough here to practice and continue helping others through their healing journey, at least not the way I was used to.

Then I realized that my own healing journey was not conventional, that my own healing journey was filled with a collection of different modalities that helped me overcome the traumas of my childhood, and that perhaps life was showing me an opportunity to create and support others through this journey too. Thus I decided to incorporate and become more verse on different holistic practices to enhance the potential of one healing session.

I have come to realize that healing the human soul goes further than simply healing the mind and emotions. As complex beings, we need more holistic practices. Thus I have decided to create a healing space where the body, the mind, the emotions, and the soul can heal together for better and more extraordinary results.

Last but not least, I believe that we all hold inside all we need to heal and become our best self, I will be here to hold a loving space for you to go through this beautiful journey … but never forget…

“You are the Medicine”

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been easy at all, I think that even as a legal immigrant, there is a lot of hoops to jump through, not only legal and financial loops; but also some that are of a more deep nature. When you move to a foreign country, you leave the comfort of that place, that system that is known for you, and in my case, it was almost that the degree I worked so hard for was completely stripped off my persona. And basically, if I wanted to be able to continue with my career, I was going to have to go back to school and spend thousands even hundred thousands of dollars to basically study something I had already done before. This was a bit hit on my perception of myself a big hit to my self-worth and of course my ego, but with patience and creativity, I found my way to practice using the knowledge I had and my experience as a life coach as well.

I believe there are always things we all need to overcome but one is connected to one’s purpose and mission, the path presents itself in time.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialized in a therapeutic technique called family constellations, this is a technique widely used by psychotherapists especially those that work with the gestalt therapies of the humanist branch. As I was sharing above, I have myself undergone my own healing journey and that it is how I decided to create an online space www.thegoodkarmalife.com during the pandemic in march 2020. Family constellations are the most powerful and magical technique that I know, healing with the ancestors becomes the bridge between you and everything you desire, abundance, love, health, and more can be quickly manifested through this deep work. Traditionally family constellations are done in a room with other participants, but given the circumstances, I designed powerful meditations and visualizations so this could be done one on one, using the power of the unconscious mind and the knowledge that it can be reprogrammed to serve a better base to manifest the life that we dream of and we deserve.

After we started to go out again and in-person gatherings were allowed again, I wanted to bring people together in healing circles, that is how I found the first place in La Jolla that opened their doors and trust to my work today I worked at Lavande and we are creating a beautiful community searching for this powerful modalities.

I have monthly group offerings, as well as private sessions.

The work I am known the most about is the powerful ancestral healing and our new healing circle for women called the sisterhood of the rose, which is a healing circle to heal and support other women overcome the traumas and wounds of their womanhood.

I will say that what makes me the proudest about myself is that after having a challenging childhood, I was called from a very young age to seek help to process my trauma; thankfully in this journey, I was able to find different tools for healing, from psychology to meditation, and experience many beautiful ceremonies and healing journeys within the culture I am from. After overcoming resignifying my pain. I felt a strong desire to share my journey and decided to be intentional about it. I started studying and preparing in mind and soul to take on this responsibility and honor of helping others to heal and resignify their experiences. I founded the good KARMA LIFE with a mission to help others bring out their wisdom, gifts, best self and also help create a better world. It is my most firm belief that everybody deserves to have a happy and fulfilled life, we just have to remember that we are the true creators of our lives and reclaim the power we have given to others.

I can say today I am one of the most determined people I know and that I will continue to work hard and with grace to bring more healing into our world.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
I know it sounds very cliche but my mom is my super cheerleader and she also serves as an example to never give up on my dreams. She worked really hard to give me not only the best education but the best again example of persistence. Next, I would say the experiences and the people around my first weeks and months in the united states truly, shape who I am today and how resilient I have become. I am thankful for being an immigrant in this country and being able to contribute to this great place. Last but not least, I want to thank my husband for believing in me and Kristy Hambirk for opening the doors of her business and her heart to me and my therapies.
