Today we’d like to introduce you to Lizzie Alexander.
Lizzie has spent over ten years working as a celebrity stylist in LA and NYC and always felt the need for a simple yet meaningful jewelry that perfectly complimented every outfit, easy enough to be dressed up or dressed down. After making jewelry for herself to wear and her close clients since she was in high school Lizzie decided to make it official and that’s how Society Nautique was born!
Society Nautique is a California effortless cool collection of handmade jewelry. The goal was to make pieces that were affordable, made with recycled gold or sustainable materials and a quality that she would never have to take off.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The challenge at first was the time to make the pieces while working full time as a stylist. It is important to me that I keep hand making all the pieces that’s what makes it special!
The next biggest challenge is the price of gold and how it fluctuates in the market; I always want to keep my pieces affordable but I will never sacrifice quality, so marrying the two for the perfect collection is always a challenge.
Please tell us about Society Nautique.
I handmake dainty everyday jewelry.
I think ever since I began making jewelry for myself, my family and friends and then slowly growing a base of private clients what I’ve been known for is the quality of my pieces and the customizable element.
I can basically make any chain, any length and also custom engrave/ Stamp the Jewelry to make it extra special.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Driving up the coast and Camping With my family… my two older brothers tortured me the whole trip but it was worth the memories!
