Meet Liz Bezler

Today we’d like to introduce you to Liz Bezler.

Liz, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I grew up in Dallas, Texas as a gymnast for many years training under Olympian and World Champion Kim Zmeskal.

At the young age of six, I was training over 30 hours a week while being homeschooled. Gymnastics was my life, and I had a dream of becoming an Olympian gymnast. I learned how to work hard and stay disciplined at such a young age.

Those qualities were instilled in me very early, and they have truly stayed with me my entire life. I then moved to the small town of Jacksonville, Illinois where I was thrown into public school for the first time. There were no gyms here in this small town, so I did have to give up gymnastics. I was devastated. That’s when I found dance and quickly fell in love with it. Before the dance, I was extremely shy. Dance gave me new confidence.

As dance took off for me, I joined Sara’s Studio of Dance’s competition team. I competed with her team for nine years until I graduated high school. I was also captain of my high school dance team, the J’ettes, for three years as well. I knew from the moment I started dancing that I wanted to pursue a professional career in the entertainment industry. I LOVED performing.

After high school, I auditioned for Edge Performing Arts Center’s scholarship program. I was one of 20 lucky dancers to receive this opportunity to train in Los Angeles for one year under world-renowned choreographers. This was a dream come true for me… I was moving to LA!

Once I completed the program, I was signed to a dance agency named Go 2 Talent Agency. I am still with them to this day. I have been working professionally in the dance industry now for two years. A few of my credits are Disney Channel, Enrique Iglesias, Hulu Pen15, My Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Universal Mama Mia, Estetica Mag, Mike Peele fitness, Tara Macri, Femmology Vegas, and much more. I am also currently apart of a non-profit Christian dance company, Cantinas Arts.

I have recently transitioned into a new career path as a singer/pop artist. An amazing opportunity came up for me out of nowhere. I am currently in the process of record label meetings with Universal Music Group and Atlantic Records. Music is so fun! I’ve always had a passion for music, and I am so excited for this new journey.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The road has not always been smooth. There have been several bumps in the road. I really believe that nothing great comes easy. I have put years and years of hard work, sweat, and tears to get to the place I am in today. And I still have a long way to go!

My dream has been to be a professional dancer for many years. Growing up – that’s all I dreamed of. There have been many struggles I’ve encountered on my journey thus far. The entertainment industry is definitely not for the weak minded.

One struggle was moving out to Los Angeles right out of high school alone. Leaving my family and all my friends for a big city where I knew no one was very scary to me. Coming from such a small town was very intimidating to me, and it took me some time to transition and find my support system. I’ve been working professionally as a dancer for over two years now.

The highs and lows of this industry are real, and it’s not always the glamour people make it out to be. I’ve been to hundreds of auditions each with hundreds of other very talented dancers. You’re told no about 90% of the time. Being told no so many times makes you question if you’re worth it or good enough.

Feeling not enough can be overwhelming at times, and it can be hard to stay positive. I just keep reminding myself that everyone has their own path! And something better for you is waiting. Patience and positivity is the key in this industry!

We’d love to hear more about what you do.
I am a professional dancer and singer! I’m trained in jazz, ballet, tap, contemporary, and hip hop. I also tumble. I would say I’m pretty known for being able to walk on my hands for a long time… it’s something I picked up from being a gymnast as a kid, and it just stuck!

I just started my pop singing career! I am so proud of how far I’ve come in four months. I just released my first single Tell Me Nada ft. Kedua (along with a music video) on Apple Music, Spotify, and Soundcloud. Something that sets me apart from others is the fact that I am both a singer and dancer. Being a multi-fasciated artist can be harder to find!

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
Of course, I can’t give enough credit to my family and parents for allowing me to pursue my dreams. They are such a big support system and have always been so encouraging to go for what I want and to never give up or lose sight of my dreams. I want to give a shoutout to my dance teacher from my hometown – Sara Roegge.

Without her, I would definitely not be where I am today. She believed in me when nobody else did! Also, all my studio girls at SSOD – my hometown dance studio – They have been my number 1 fans through dance and music. I could not be more grateful for all their support.

Thank you Skyler Lexx, Ashley Camden, Kedua, and Chris Koehl for being the reason this whole music dream is happening for me. Skyler Lexx and Ashley Camden were the ones who placed these music opportunities in my lap, Kedua produced and wrote all my music, and Chris Koehl shot a killer music video for my first single! I cannot say thank you enough!

Also thank you to my boyfriend, Richard Wang, for being by my side through the ride. Thanks for keeping me sane and inspired!

You’re constant advice and support is greatly appreciated. Also all my fans and supporters from LA and Jacksonville – You ROCK! I am overwhelmed with the turn out of the release of my first single. Would not be possible without Y’all! Thank you!
